Sounds more effective than mine. I set an infinite loop to check for motion every second and if no motion is detected for 600 seconds the display goes to sleep.

    • RE: PIR-Sensor - put your mirror to sleep if not used

@phrazelle The idea behind it is so that when the HDMI is disabled you would get the no signal. You then set up the TV/Monitor to go to sleep if no signal is found.
Check your TV manual for power saving settings.

I used this in the UK.

I would recommend making sure you have the right size as it isn’t easy to cut yourself.

I have been looking for something similar. Linked up with SpotifyUI but not had much time to test it out.

    • RE: Halloween mirror ghouls anyone?

Link it up with a PIR sensor with some bluetooth speakers and you could give someone a nasty fright!!

    • RE: Different sleep function

The setup I have is for the monitor to go to sleep if no signal is found.
I believe you should be able to find the same kind of settings on your TV.

    • RE: HMDI (from Pi 3) to DVI? Will it work?

Dont get a straight VGA to HDMI cable because it wouldnt work. You would need convertor which is a bit larger than you would expect and often need to be powered.
