@sdetweil Oh alright I guess. Well I guess I’ll image the SD, flash it, try again and hope for the best. Here goes

RE: Magic Mirror on the Raspberry Pi 1, agonizingly difficult
@cowboysdude Thanks.
This is the situation:
The default config file is working (I have it backed up) though when I run it in server only the clock and weather work fine, but all the other modules say “Loading…”.
I did try to customise it, but got the “No config file”, so either I have syntax errors or the sources aren’t right…
Talking of, does anyone know of a list of compatible news feeds and the like?
Thanks again -
RE: Magic Mirror on the Raspberry Pi 1, agonizingly difficult
Good news!
The config file is (mostly) working (it needed a reboot) and I’ll configure it until I’m satisfied at which point I need to figure out how to keep it fullscreen, disable screen timeout and do the autostart and all that…
In the meantime, thanks to everyone for their help :-D -
RE: Magic Mirror on the Raspberry Pi 1, agonizingly difficult
It worked!!!
Turns out I didn’t run pm2 startup (feeling a bit stupid)
Thank you so much to everyone, I couldn’t have done it without you XD

RE: MM fails regularly
@GuyWithAQuestion That actually sounds like a good solution, thanks! I’ve already got a cronjob that turns the screen off at night so I’ll try to add one to reboot every so often

RE: MM fails regularly
@sdetweil I’ve tried to stop it with pm2 but it doesn’t work so I have to reboot it

RE: MM fails regularly
It starts automatically when the pi boots with pm2 yes

MM fails regularly
So ever since updating to the latest version a few months ago, my MM seems to be failing quite often (every few days or so). Sometimes the Mirror will just freeze completely for a few hours (I know this because the clock stops) and eventually will give me a white ‘the site can’t be reached’ screen (chromium-based because I’ve got a RPi 1).
I know it’s not disconnecting from the network because I can still ssh in and reboot the pi, which as far as I can figure is the only way to get it to work again.
Has anyone had similar issues or knows how to find the cause (and hopefully solution) of the problem? -
RE: Can't clone from GitHub
@sdetweil Also for the record SSH is back working (I DIDN’T restart the router), it seems a bit hit and miss but we’ll leave that for now

RE: Can't clone from GitHub
@sdetweil Do you mind if we try this again. I’ve seen many answers referencing recompiling git or something, but I’m getting a lot of errors. I thought maybe it would solve the issue if I did it correctly, which I’m clearly not.
I’ve attached a screenshot of the terminal because there are a lot of errors I don’t really understand, but maybe you guys could make sense of it.
It’s just I don’t have another SD card and I’d prefer not to flash my existing one.
(First command works fine, but it’s a bit cut off at the top) -
RE: Can't clone from GitHub
Haven’t done anything yet, but I tried to SSH in again and it’s gone back to not working.
(interrupted system call is the error I get on terminus) -
RE: Can't clone from GitHub
@sdetweil I think I do that already. Not sure what split mode is though. Side note: I found an old SD, how much space do I need for the OS and MM and everything else?
