@sdetweil said in Help with calendar:
@gerbenz hide the default calendar
comment out its position setting on config.js// position: … whatever
maybe you want week view instead of month view??
mode:“week”, // instead of month
weeksInView: 1size, that is all CSS (styling, which goes in MagicMirror/css/custom.css)
the doc for Ext3 gives extensive info on css values…
note the position you set it in also impacts its size…
see this part of the module config for understanding the module positions
https://docs.magicmirror.builders/modules/configuration.html#positionI hide the original calendar, butt then the MMM-CalendarEXT3 is empty.
when i place back the original then its filled -
@gerbenz is this the latest MM release 2 .30
did you put on the fix?
see https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/19282/version-2-30-0-calendar-fix-for-clipping-broadcast-events -
done,but not working. stays empty
-
@gerbenz can you show me output of
cd ~/MagicMirror git branch -
- _fix_clipping
master
- _fix_clipping
-
@gerbenz ok, can you show the output of starting MagicMirror
if you are using pm2 then
pm2 logs --lines=xxx
xxx is the number of most recent lines , default 15you may need more
careful the cal broadcast message contains the full url so coukd expose personal infois it broadcasting events ?
-
-
@gerbenz no idea
can you show the calendar configuration
(xxx out the urls but don’ change anything else)you ARE just commenting out the calendar position line, right??
mine looks like this{ module: "calendar", classes: "page1", //position: "top_left", order: "*", index: 1, label: "instance 1", config: { broadcastPastEvents: true, fetchInterval: 120000, urgency: 0, dateFormat: "Do.MMM, HH:mm", fullDayEventDateFormat: "Do.MMM", getRelative: 0, hidePrivate: true, calendars: [ -
{ module: "MMM-CalendarExt3", header: "Afspraken", position: "middle_center", config: { mode: "week", weeksInView: 1, weekIndex: 0, instanceId: "basicCalendar", locale: 'nl-NL', maxEventLines: 5, firstDayOfWeek: 0, startDayIndex: 0, displayEndTime: true, calendarSet: null, refreshInterval: 60000, fontsize: '30px', eventHeight: '30px', useWeather: false, skipPassedEventToday: true, calendars: [ { name: "werk stefnie", color: "red", url: "https://xxxx" }, { name: "Stefanie", url: "webcal://p181-caldav.icloud.com/published/xxxx", }, { name: "Gezin", url: "webcal://p181-caldav.icloud.com/published/xxxx", }, { name: "Amber", url: "webcal://p181-caldav.icloud.com/published/xxxx", }, { name: "Luna", url: "webcal://p181-caldav.icloud.com/published/xxxx", }, { name: "Gerben", url: "webcal://p175-caldav.icloud.com/published/xxxx", } ] } }, -
@gerbenz no, the default calendar, where the events come from
-
module: "calendar", position: "middle_center", config: { coloredText: true, broadcastPastEvents: false, // <= IMPORTANT to see past events fetchInterval: 1000 * 60 * 1, calendars: [ { symbol: "werk stefnie", url: "xxxxx" }, { symbol: "Stefanie", url: "webcal://p181-caldav.icloud.com/published/xxxxx", }, { symbol: "Gezin", url: "webcal://p181-caldav.icloud.com/published/xxxxx", }, { symbol: "Amber", url: "webcal://p181-caldav.icloud.com/published/xxxx", }, { symbol: "Luna", url: "webcal://p181-caldav.icloud.com/published/xxxxxx", }, { symbol: "Gerben", url: "webcal://p175-caldav.icloud.com/published/xxxxx", } ] } }, -
@gerbenz fetch every 60 seconds?
might be a spammer
how about try 5 mins
and comment out the positionExt3 tries not to flash the screen w updates, you are probably running into that with so frequent updates and so many cals all at different times
you can look at the pm2’log and see timestamps when events are sent from each cal
-
updating the screen works good.
all calendars are working.
butt when i hide the standard calendar then te addon calandar lost the events and is empty -
@gerbenz but thats not how it works! the calendar module just keeps sending even when no position is specified.
i have both setup on my system and it works perfectly
maybe 10releases ago modules w no
position would not be runyou should be able to see the broadcasts go out in the logs
-
@gerbenz show me the default calendar config whenExt3 is not working.
-
I changed nothing, only possition to unknown dor the standard calendar.
And then the addon calendar is show no events
-
@gerbenz no, NOT unknown, thats invalid, module will not be loaded (there will be an error in the log about this)
just add
//to the front of the line w position on it to comment it out
see mine that i posted earlier
https://forum.magicmirror.builders/post/123049 -
Okay i give it a try tomorrow.
Thanks so far for youre help.
I lett it know if it works.
And do i need delete the adresses from the standard calendar or not? -
@gerbenz address?
look at my example
