MMM-Compliments doesn't load
-
@mykle1 Are you sure because it is not the default module. It is a third party one so I can add personalized compliments. I tried to add them in the dafault compliments but after adding them nothing showed up. Not even the defaults. Although I’ll try it when I get home. Thank you very much.

My bad. I did not notice that it was a different module from the default. I will install it and test for you when I get home from work unless someone gives you a hand before I get here

@mykle1
I would appreciate that. Thnak you very much. I will wait for your results and suggestions. As for the MMM-EARTH it is working perfect again. I read your reply on github but I already had disabled it for a couple of days and after that it load perfectly again. -
@Anthony you can add personalized comments to the core module.
You shoudl consider using the core module and sparing yet another module in your 3rd-party folder. We can help you sort out the personalized things. -
@lavolp3 For both modules you should add the additional compliments outside of the main module file but inside config.js OR a new referenced json file like this:
module: "compliments", position: "lower_third", config: { classes: 'small', remoteFile: 'xxxxx.json', updateInterval: 12*60*60*1000, }
The json file sits in the module folder

Can you give me a little more help? I created the json file by copy paste the original js file, added my compliments and saved it in the compliments folder named as compliments2.json (was this right?). I also added the lines in my config as you mentioned but still only the defaults are visible. Thank you. -
@anthony Your json needs to look like this:
{ "anytime" : [ ".....", "....." ], "morning": [ ".....", "....." ] .... }
Nothing else…
If you want you can post your config.js entry and the json file here or via pm. But it’s important you understand how it needs to look and why.

Whatever module you use (default compliments or MMM-Compliments for not crowding your config.js with a big array you can create a json file containing the array with the compliments you want and save it in your compliments folder. After that you must edit your config.js for the compliments module to target that json you created by adding the lineremoteFile: "your_file's_name.json",
under theconfig: {
. If you don’t have a programm to create the .json file you can do it on line.
