      Good morning,

I would like to buy a small smart weather station. A manufactured product, I do not want to craft anything at the moment. The weather station should send its data to my SmartHome (Apple Home) and at the same time the data should be displayed on my MagicMirror.

I was thinking of an Eve Weather. With that I get the weather into my Apple world. But do I get the data displayed on the MagicMirror as well?

Does anyone have an Eve Weather along with MM?

      Can you recommend another product?

      Thank you,

      Christian

@majorc It looks like EVE uses apple Home kit. Maybe something in here https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/10008/mmm-homekit-control-your-magicmirror-with-apple-homekit?_=1621144945084

might be of use or possibly point you in the right direction.

I use a weather station that exports to Wunderground then use a MMM- Module (https://github.com/saabman/MMM-WunderGround-PWS-Observations) to pull the observations from wunderground ( There is quiet a bit of lag between updates and it seems to do metric to imperial and back to conversions on the site so accuracy leaves a bit to be desired so I wouldnt recomend using Wunderground. There are heaps of weather stations on ebay that directly upload to Wunderground so while its not ideal it does work,

Keeping your data local like EVE claims would be beneficial.

I’m a little surprised that more people haven’t gotten involved with the EVE products. It feels like they are quite well distributed.

But I’ll take a look, maybe you can get the data read out of Appel HomeKit. Maybe even through my HomeBridge.

@majorc I went with Ambient Weather because your data gets uploaded to both Ambient Weather and Weather Underground.

                Ambient Weather

For this you get an API key that will return your data in json format which is very usable to build your own module with. This is your weather data which means it’ll be VERY accurate for your area because you are the one capturing it.

                OR

You can take the weather info you get back and put it into ANY weather module here and make it work.

They have helper libraries for the api for node js already. Because it’s your data the rate limit is NO more then 1 hit per second… which basically means you can up to the minute accurate weather data.

While I don’t really write too many modules anymore I will be making a new weather module for my mirror with my data 🙂

The reason why you don’t see Eve used in the US much is because they are more expensive compared to say Xiaomi products which most are half the price of Eve products.

I am running Home Assistant and I have Xiaomi temp/humd sensors, motions sensors, etc. Much less expensive and work very well.

@majorc They look REALLY awesome!! I’m putting mine on the pole tomorrow…it’s a weekend so I get to play LOL.

Got the 10’ black iron pole all ready to go… mount is ready. Just a matter of installing it and putting the station on top 🙂

I did find this you may want to look at ->

@cowboysdude Yeah, I have my Netamos for more than 8 years now and they are awsome. I found also a fork, which allows to display several base stations https://github.com/MariusEng/MMM-Netatmo
