haha, of course it works with HDMI ;-)

But I think this question is about Samsung The Frame specific features and not TVs in general 🙃

@Jalibu i don’t think that was what he was asking… but maybe he will chime in…

I have a precursor to the frame, 82in samsung with the external hdmi ports… MM works fine over hdmi
(google ChromeCast does the same thing)

My idea was to run MM via HDMI and a Raspberry when I am in the room.

If no one is in front of the frame, it should switch to “frame mode” and display a picture.

But do not know if it works that way. Or if I just take a normal monitor and have a frame built.

            that is a good question…

            looks like not

looks like if u turn it off with CEC then its ‘off’, not frame mode

Following the comments in your link, Samsung has made it possible by a firmware update.

Maybe @Jalibu can double-check the behavior.

I did not find this option as a setting on my Frame (latest Firmware). Unfortunately, I also can‘t test this because I don’t have a Anynet device

It looks like there are different firmware features. Depending on the hardware.

Great thx Samsung. Now I have to find out when this option is available. I’m not really willing to spend 500€ for a picture frame. Then I can rather buy a monitor and have a nice wooden frame built by a carpenter.
