I created a quick module that will map Santa as he travels around the world Christmas Eve to distribute presents. This is a quick & dirty module that uses the data from Google’s Santa Tracker suite of applications.

Santa’s location updates every minute. Grab the code at MMM-SantaTracker

@bhepler cool!
wish I had little ones!

Update for 2024!
- Latest version has a more robust image loading which should cut down on missing images.
- Implemented the
overTimevariable, which will allow you to override the calculated date & time for Santa’s trip. This is useful for testing beforehand.
Merry Christmas!

@bhepler amazing. I had this idea too but got lost in the details. What API you using? My idea was to have a lat and long and countdown to when Santa is coming there. Feel free to steal it.

@bhepler I think it would be nice if you would add it to the module list: https://github.com/MagicMirrorOrg/MagicMirror/wiki/3rd-party-modules 🎅

I forked it and made some speed increases and made processing happen in a node helper which helps if you use magic mirror in server mode. My my powerful server does all the processing and keeps it off the client. Will push up my code

Also updates the override time so you can see the journey when doing override
