@cowboysdude just got home and tried it, replaced all " with ’

And now I get another error:

      auth_code.sh: line 10: syntax error near unexpected token (' auth_code.sh: line 10: perl -MURI::Escape -ne ‘chomp;print uri_escape($_),’\n’‘’

Pretty sure there’s a simple fix for line 10, but haven’t figured it out yet!

what was your fix for this? i am currently having this exact issue

@hnperkins That post “seem” wrong as it show’s a “back-tick” (`) or even forward-tick, instead of a single quote (').
You need to replace all double-quotes with single quotes, not back-ticks!
Unfortunately the single quotes are not rendered clearly, in this forum.

        # Here is a single-quote: '
        # Here is a back-tick: `
        # Here is a double-quote: "

But that said, I’m not sure that is the problem.

It doesnt work with ifttt. Whenever i try to send the command, it gives a response “i dont see any ifttt trigger” . But from alexa app on my android it works normally with the same account, i used to generate my token.

Hey there, I’m totally new to this topic.
I hope you understand my English and my problem.

So my Mirror is already working but when i’m adding the module Awesome Alexa my weather module is loading in the middle of the screen instead of Top_right. It doesn’t matter if i change all positions, every time Weather is in the middle.
When i delete the alexa module, weather is back in the original position.

Can somebody help me with this problem?

              thank you a lot…

Trying to finish setup of the module.

I’m in the helper config, and when I get to the point of supplying a return URL I enter:
                https://localhost:3000/authresponse
But terminal tells me that’s an invalid URL.

I’ve put https://localhost:3000/authresponse as my return URL and https://localhost:3000/ as my authorized URL on the Amazon developer site. What I am I doing wrong here?

I am struggling since 4 hours getting this module to work. 😩

When I say ‘Alexa’ the module seems to wake up, but then after ie a question nothing happens.

There’s no evidence of errors when running MM by npm start.

All the setup went fine so I am out of ideas now…

@Cr4z33 how does the module play audio? I had an alexa module that used mpg321, which wasn’t installed… so it never made any sound

looks like the awesome alex debug says to test play with

                    omxplayer -o alsa myAudioFile.mp3

I actually didn’t check that part yet because every other module using sound (ie. MMM-AssistantMk2, MMM-Spotify, etc.) is already working perfectly.

Also I see there’s no option in the module to set the audio output so… :man_shrugging_medium_skin_tone:

yes, doesn’t mean anything… every module can use their own methods to make sound…

                          @sdetweil sure.

I might have some spare time later today and I definitely need a working Alexa module ASAP.

@sdetweil so I followed the Audio guide, but immediately had to go to the Audio Troubleshooting section because no sound was coming out.

Created the suggested audio settings file, rebooted, but the module keeps working like in my first post here…

I am using HDMI output and a USB mic.
They work perfectly with other modules or ie. with VLC playing.

                            Edit
My fault I didn’t run MM into dev mode so now I notice there’s actually an error when waking up the module, but I don’t know what it means.

Does anybody have please a clue about what’s written below?

Oddly that’s not working for me either. Maybe I’m doing something wrong?

What should I be using for the Device ID? I’ve been using the product ID, but maybe that’s wrong.

Well dang. I’m doing something wrong here. Whether I use the helper config or the tool above, I get a broken error page.

And I know an error page is expected, but it’s not a long url with a code in it.
                                            It’s like… amazon.com/wpa

                                            and that’s it.

Was the right choice “device with alexa built in” and “no companion app” ? I figure I must have done something wrong on the Amazon developer page, since that’s the part with no guide and it’s working for other people.
