      @strawberry-3.141 has there been any movement on this? I’ve been dying for an NBA module but can’t find a basketball API, and I’m pretty new to the scene to begin with. I’d love to collaborate with someone on this, if there’s interest.

          I am playing around with this - but I’m also just barely qualified to write code!

          I’m gutting out most the higher level functions like stats and voice support, trying to just get correct scores to display. Biggest problem so far is I can not find an easy to parse score feed. This NFL feed is perfect.

              @chieftainSupreme

              Found this today. It’s not nearly as elegant as the NFL xml file, but it should technically be parsable.

                So it’s been over 15 years since I’ve done much coding. My background is in C++ and I ran a few Python tutorials when I first got my Pi.

                I’m writing a parser for this NBA score feed and it just occurred to me that I don’t know how to integrate a python script into Magic Mirror. I’ve made some good progress, but is there any sense continuing? Will I be able to easily port this to JS or will Magic Mirror know what to do with the .py file, or am I going to need to start over?

                    I’ve completed an ugly parser for this NBA data. I have a python program that stores and prints a list of home teams, away teams, scores, and event times. Can anybody help me with passing these variables into the existing NFL module framework?

                      @in_a_days I suggest to move this into the development section and a new thread for nba

                      Help: you can run the python script in from inside the node_helper and read the output, then send the data to your module with a socket notification

                            Is anyone having a problem getting the Preseason 2018 to display? If I reboot my MM, it will say, Preseason 2018, but the final week of the 2017 regular season will display. Any suggestions?

                              But looking at the code real quick it’s not set up for preseason …regular and playoffs only. The NFL only offers those two options for data.

                                  This MMM-NFL module only shows the preseason from last year…

                                  How do I get it to show the current week’s games and scores?

                                  Or, better yet, How can I get it to show the pre-season, regular season, and playoff games for a single particular team or teams???

                                  What I am wanting is a single page on my mirror to show all the above for 3 certain teams: Chiefs, Cowboys, & Broncos, side-by-side for one view of each team on the same page, so that my eldest son (Broncos), my son-in-law (Cowboys), and myself (Chiefs - of course!) can easily see the comparison between them.

                                    BTW…

                                    I’ve tried to place 3 iFrames on one page, one to show each schedule in a live updated format. But I cannot figure out how to get it to work. Is it even possible to use the same module coded in 3 different ways to show on the same page??? :thinking_face: :thinking_face: :thinking_face:

                                          @justjim1220 It’s not setup to show any preseason games…on the Github page it shows config options and this is one of them:

                                          `focus_on Display only matches with teams of this array e.g. ['NYG', 'DAL', 'NE'].`

                                          This is how it’s used:

                                               `{
                                                   module: 'MMM-NFL',
                                                   position: 'top_right',
                                                   config: {
                                                   focus_on: ['NYG', 'DAL', 'NE'] //JUST an example to show ONLY those 3 teams
                                                   }
                                                   }

                                            Ok, here’s a screen shot of what it looks like…

                                            0_1534233213612_Screenshot (29).png

                                            As you can see… It says ‘NFL Pre-Season 2017’ in the header.

                                            the actual list of games are from the final regular season week of 2017.

                                            It doesn’t show, in the Readme regarding any modes to use in the config.

                                            added the ‘focus_on’ in the config, nothing changed…

                                            0_1534233142592_Screenshot (44).png

                                            which by the way, is also not explained or covered in the Readme,

                                            0_1534233048779_Screenshot (45).png

                                            I’ve had this module for quite a while now, have never been informed of any changes.
                                            But, I decided to trash it and restart it with a fresh install of the module…

                                            I noticed several differences in the first one I had and the current one…

                                            the files of the one I’ve had for a while…
                                            0_1534233660047_Screenshot (46).png

                                            the files of the one I downloaded and installed a little while ago…
                                            0_1534233742373_Screenshot (47).png

                                            this is the difference of the MMM-NFL.js files…
                                            0_1534234651388_Screenshot (48).png

                                            the latest one shows modes for Pre-Season, Regular-Season, & Post-Season…

                                            If I use the modes, Pre & Post, I get a blank mirror, and this error in my terminal…
                                            0_1534234889112_Screenshot (38).png

                                            here’s what it looks like with the 'Regular-Season" mode and the ‘focus_on’ added in the config…
                                            0_1534234291088_Screenshot (49).png

                                            I also get a blank screen with the same error in my terminal when leaving out the mode and the focus_on.

                                            So, now you can see why I have had so many problems with it!
