RE: Possible to make an Infinity Magic Mirror ?
@tirando - Two way mirror = one way glass = one way mirror. They’re all synonyms. Much like how flammable and inflammable both mean “no smoking nearby”.
Two way/One way mirrors are both just terms for a mirror that allows a percentage of the light behind it to pass through.

RE: Raspberry 4 with two 24-inch screens ?
@Cbob - It shouldn’t require much modification. Just avoid the following positions in your
config.js
file:fullscreen_above
,fullscreen_below
,bottom_center
,middle_center
,top_center
,top_bar
andbottom_bar
. Those positions are centered on the desktop and will straddle the break between your monitors. That leaves you six positions to put modules. You should be okay. Now… if you want to get really advanced, you can modify the framework to add locations just to the left and right of the break between the monitors. That will involve adding new locations to the
index.html
and some significant modification of the CSS file. But it is possible. I would suggest getting your mirror built first and then investigating this possibility. -
RE: Internet Monitor
Okay, I have completed my first pass at fixing the WiFi symbol. It works for me, so let’s see how it goes for you.
If you’re not using my repository, you’ll have to switch by deleting your
modules/internet-monitor
folder, cloning from my repository athttps://github.com/BrianHepler/internet-monitor
and then installing like normal. You’ll have tocd internet-monitor
and thennpm install
.If you’re already using my repository, just
cd MagicMirror/modules/internet-monitor
andgit pull
. It will probably tell you that you need to stashpackage-lock.json
. Just delete that file and try again.Warning: The custom WiFi icon doesn’t work yet. I got the default one to show up, but I’m still working on the one with the custom colors. But right now I want to verify that you guys can at least see the WiFi icon.

RE: First attempt...
Looks good! Are you driving it with a Pi or something with more umph?

RE: RPI3 running out of memory
@ember1205 - It’s still useful information, even if it is the combination of two modules. Remove one module and the problem dissipates. In the end, it doesn’t really matter if it is one module or a combination of two modules that causes the memory error. It gives you a path forward without errors.

RE: Transparent glass in front of Acrylic Sheet to hold it together ?
Be sure to add a little room in your frame for wood expansion. Changes in humidity (and the fact that you’ve cut the wood into pieces) will make it expand slightly. If you don’t account for this, the wood will push on the sides of your acrylic, warping it.
It shouldn’t take much to give it enough slack. Maybe half a centimeter all around.

RE: MMM-Globe
@JHerndon - Go to Google’s calendar web page and look for your calendar on the left hand side. When you hover over it with your mouse, you’ll see the 3 dots for the menu. Click on the dots and select “Settings and Sharing”.
On the next page, scroll down to “integrate calendar”. Use those URLs (iCal format), no password required.

RE: My 1st Smart Mirror Quest
Nicely done! I love the happy surprise with the monitor LED. And good job with the heat sinks.

RE: Bored during Quarantine
@sgarg15 - I would recommend going through @Mykle1’s modules. Dude is a fiend with finding an API and creating a module around it. Just check out the list. Specifically, look at HumanClock, Lunartic and NatureCalendar.
Beyond that, I suggest that you spend some quality time with the Modules -> Showcase section of the forums here.
