@aecandroid - Please check out this guide on how to use the markdown features of the forum. Then go back and properly block out your config.js file. That will make debugging your code much easier.

RE: Upgrading Mirror Mark II
@Cr4z33 - I can do better than guess. I bought it from www.twowaymirrors.com. They have a rep, @twowaymirrors who is on this forum every so often. They were great and I pretty much only use them at this point.
It’s their 50% transmission model, I think. I’d have to check the receipt.

RE: MMM-SORT
My daughter works in Emergency as a PA and I am a retired New York City Police Officer.
No kidding. Interesting.
@scott5532 said in the same #$?@!! thread
I am a Hazardous Area Response Team Paramedic in the north of England and our mirror is going on the wall in the crew room as a information screen.
Now that sounds like a worthy purpose. Let’s get you fixed up.
Honestly, I would ditch either the analog clock or the digital one. You’re being redundant in your information. Additionally, I would add a header to the SORT module so that it’s obvious what information is being conveyed in that section of the display.

RE: Map visible in browser but not on mirror
@Lorenz - You can configure your mirror to use the built-in Chromium browser instead of electron. You’ll need to do the following:
- modify your startup script to go
node serveronly
instead of the usualnpm start
. - Set the home page of the chromium browser to
http://localhost:8080
. - Put the browser into kiosk mode.
- Set the browser to start on boot.
- modify your startup script to go

RE: Upgrading Mirror Mark II
@hayman - Nope. Three pi, one for each monitor. One of them is acting as a gateway onto our secured network. It brokers the VPN connection and then provides DHCP and internet access to the other two. This way, all three Pi are connected to the internet via some VM in… Sydney, I think. It depends on how they have it configured this week.
The network is the company product, so the mirror is a constant demonstration. (not that you can tell on the two monitors just playing video, but it’s the thought that counts).

RE: MMM-WunderGround replacement
There are several weather modules. A quick browse through the Modules - Showcase - Utility section of this forum will give you several to choose from.
I would suggest looking at Dark Skies and NOAA3 first.

RE: 24 Hour clock problem
Everyone! Please, use the Markdown features of the forum when posting code.
@rasmus-rytter said in 24 Hour clock problem:
Everything has gone except of the clock?
Looking at your
config.js
file, you are missing the code to include the clock module entirely. @Mykle1 has it correct: It’s best at this point to copy theconfig.js.sample
file toconfig.js
and just start from a known working baseline. -
RE: Best Magic Mirror Build !
Great video! And your mirror looks awesome. You did a fabulous job on both.

RE: i need help getting the dailybibleverse module set up.
@steed said in i need help getting the dailybibleverse module set up.:
i pasted the MMM-DailyBibleVerse folder here ‘/home/pi/MagicMirror/modules/default/MMM-DailyBibleVerse’
This path is incorrect. Modules go in the
/home/pi/MagicMirror/modules
folder. That path is assumed when you add the module name to theconfig.js
entry. So when you typemodule: 'MMM-DailyBibleVerse',
it’s going to look in that path for a folder with that name. -
RE: Unable to Install on RPi 3 b - unable to install dependencies
@valid8r - My suggestion is to install the latest version of node separately and then run the installation script. Try
npm install npm@latest -g
to install the latest version of the Node Package Manager (npm).Once that completes, try the MagicMirror installations script again and let us know what happens.
cd ~ bash -c "$(curl -sL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/MichMich/MagicMirror/master/installers/raspberry.sh)"
