      @ooom416354

      Then you have to read this : https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/37648

      Then when you have done that you can copy the calendar url that is generated and then just replace the existing url with that.

    • RE: Custom Calendar entries

      That calendar is practically just a place holder, you can add your own calendar.

      Are you a android user or iphone user?
      You can link almost any calender to the MagicMirror2

      My self I use the google calendar since I’m a Android user.

    • RE: Custom Calendar entries

      Shouldn’t that be done via the calender itself?

      I.e add repeating events in your calender.

    • RE: Mirror smaller than screen (by 6cm) - Possible to alter the image size?

      @yawns said in Mirror smaller than screen (by 6cm) - Possible to alter the image size?:

      Please try this in custom.css:

      body {
        margin-top: 250px;
        margin-bottom: 250px;
        height: calc(100% - 500px);
      }

      That should give a 250px margin from the top and the bottom and it should center the content on screen again. If you play with margin-top or margin-bottom values please adjust the height calculation.

      Yes, yawns are correct, sorry I missed that.

      @alonshwartz1966

      Yes, remove the entire magicmirror folder and run the install script again, for me the script stopped (without errors) several times,

      Also, when you are trying to start it, do you try to start it via the LXterminal in the desktop environment or directly in the boot prompt?

      Change the margins in the css file until the modules fit within the frame, should be the easiest way to deal with it.

      add

      body { margin: marginsize }

      To the custom.css and change the margins until you get it to fit

      or

      body {margin-left: marginsize; margin-right: marginsize}

      If you only want to change the width of the displayed area

    • RE: Mirror supplier - Stockholm, Sweden

      If someone is having troubles getting a proper mirror in Sweden, get to a local Glass-company and ask if they buy glass from Pilkington. If not, try another company.

      If they do, get them to order the Pilkington Mirropane Chrome for you.
      (https://www.pilkington.com/sv-se/se/produkter/funktionsomrade/specialglas/pilkington-mirropane-chrome#allmnt)

      I received mine a couple of days ago from the local glass-company (Nöjds glas i Åtvidaberg),
      120cm x 60cm, 6mm thick. cost me 1500Sek (that would be around 150 Eur depending on the currency rate).

      It’s a 20x better mirror than the crappy foil I first ordered, I’m really happy with the glass.

      Edit : Pilkington also has their MirroView glass with higher light transmission.
      (The mirropane has 3%, the mirroview has 20% and 45% light transmission. 3% could be slightly dim in bright rooms)

      Yep,
      deleteing as well as renaming the MagicMirror Folder won’t do the trick for me.
      Maybe it’s related to this Issue https://github.com/MichMich/MagicMirror/issues/567

      Where should the electron.js be located, i believe it’s missing here too.

      In the magicmirror folder, node_modules and then electron or electron-prebuilt

      maybe try to install it manually?

      npm install electron --save-dev

      @Ancient said in used the amazing complete setup but after 'npm start'.....:

      I’ve got the same Problem.
      Fresh installation of Raspian on an Raspberry Pi3.

      Running the install Script again doesn’t help.

      Even if you remove the magicmirror folder before running it again?

      I had a similar issue (don’t know if it was exactly the same, since I didn’t save the log).
      It seems like the Electron.js is the issue, in my case it was missing for some reason, removing the magicmirror folder and running the install script again did the trick for me.

    • RE: Stupid newbie questions

      Using nano to edit the config.txt you just exit nano (ctrl + x) it will then ask you if you want to save your changes, type Y and then enter, that’s it, you are back out to the terminal, reboot your pi and the screen is rotated.

      If your PI is connected to the net it should have set the time, date and timezone automatically.

      Each module has a readme-file, all settings are explained in those files.

    • RE: Images issue on forum

      It’s a loading issue, if you update the page (f5 in your browser) it should appear in full, at least it does for me almost everytime. When it doesn’t I just rightclick and select show picture

      And I think there is a option in the forum settings that sets if you want pictures loaded or not

      Should not be an issue, use one of the voice modules and the iframe module.

      But why would you play a youtube playlist? The videos are full of commercials now a days…
      I would feel it was quite annoying under a longer period of time.

    • RE: A VERY simple Web radio player controled by voice

      @gismo2006

      What I mean is if you want to change the station from one to the other you have to use the hotword for stop(radiostop) before you change stations.

      You really need the kill before starting the new stream/playback otherwise you get multiple streams at the same time.

    • RE: Moving modules around screen

      Adding style.position=“fixed” to the modules first div should give you the option to place it wherever you want

      So basically make a funktion that changes the css-style position. Should work

    • RE: A VERY simple Web radio player controled by voice

      You do know that with a slight change in the .sh-file you can make mpg123 play local m3u-playlists, right?

      How do you handle multiple starts of radio channels?
      Following the force-close method I suggest adding :

      killall mpg123
      sleep 0.1
      #and the mpg123 play command

      This would kill all mpg123 processes before starting the next mpg123 process with the other station.

      I wonder if hotkeys can be assigned to mpg123…

    • RE: A VERY simple Web radio player controled by voice

      Brilliant, however.
      I don’t get the exec command to work, nothing wrong with the .sh scripts but it seems like the shell doesn’t start from MM.
      I’m trying to auto start the playback on load with

      start: function() { this.sendSocketNotification('einslive', {});},

      Right or wrong?

      Edit
      Yes, the start:function works

      after som guidance from gismo2006 i changed the .sh script file to be executable (chmod +x ) and now it works :D
