      @sdetweil
      I have already tried your advice but it didn’t work.
      The strange thing is that if I launch the two modules together, only MMM-NewsFeed starts.
      If I start them individually then the MMM-NewsFeed2 works too.
      When launched together, MMM-NewsFeed always prevails, not allowing the execution of MMM-NewsFeed2.

    • MMM-NewsFeed multiple instances

      Hello everybody,
      I am trying to duplicate the MMM-NewsFeed module because I would like to call it twice from the MMM-Pages module.
      The guides on the forum have had no effect, the module is not loaded.

      Can you help me?

      Thanks as always.

      @MMRIZE said in RPI 4 hibernation:

      Impossible. None of the Raspberry Pis has had a “sleeping” or “hibernating” mode.
      And Pi itself has no feature to wake up by time or WOL. So you may need additional h/w like a smart outlet or HAT (e.g. wittyPi) for controlling power externally,

      … but in any case when it is switched on again I should restart everything (MM, etc …).

      @MMRIZE said in RPI 4 hibernation:

      and their price is higher than the saving amount from Pi.

      that’s for sure…but if you think so you wouldn’t do many things…

    • RPI 4 hibernation

      Hello everybody,
      given the energy/climate problems of the planet, I was wondering: is there a way to “hibernate” the RPI? I know the energy saving is little…but everything does…

      I was thinking of an automatism that after a certain time switches off the RPI and switches on again after another time that can always be configureable.
      When it is off it should remain in a state of “hibernation” and then resume the same tasks when it restarts.

      It would be possible? Has anyone already thought about it?

      Thank you all!

      @Egnos all ecobee have motion detection in their thermostat and room sensors. that’s how they know the room is occupied… and could be used in temp averaging.

      Ah ok!
      Does the HUB for these sensors do the thermostat?
      What module do you use?

      I have ecobee, w motion sensors… why should I need another motion sensor?

      Motion sensor?!
      Is the HUB done by the thermostat for all Ecobee sensors?
      Which module do you use for Ecobee?

      @Jimminy said in Temperature/humidity on Magic Mirror:

      You might want to have a look at https://tinyurl.com/WiFi-Temp-7-Humidity-Sensor. I have one on order so will have to wait and see if it does as advertised.

      The link takes me to the “home” of AliExpress, could you put the correct link?
      How do you think to share the info of this sensor with MM?

      @BKeyport said in Temperature/humidity on Magic Mirror:

      the outdoor sensors is actually not connected to anything. Solar powered, wireless to it’s controller, which then is connected to my network and uploaded to a website to create the panel.

      So they can be physically not connected to the RPI.
      Could you tell me the type of sensor and how it connects (power supply, WiFi, etc …)?
      How do you bring the information of these external sensors on the local network and then in the browser?

      Thank you all for valuable information! :folded_hands:

      Thank you very much @BKeyport and I find your environment very ingenious!
      I was looking for something less complex, the sensors you mentioned must still be connected to Arduino/RPI…if I’m not mistaken!

      I was hoping there were temperature sensors that would connect to Google Home and some module was able to take this information and display it on the MM.
      But I think it’s science fiction! ;-)

      @Egnos ok got it.
      what I was saying is that the
      MMM-PIR-???
      modules, if you use them, THEY send the USER_PRESENCE notification
      the GPIO_Notifcations module is more generic and can send notifications for ANY gpio device

      Ok ok, I just wanted to be sure that, in my case, the MMM-GPIO-Notifications module sends the “USER_PRESENCE” notification.
      I knew that the module I am using is a collector of GPIO devices…

      u don’t need the GPIO_Notifications module. as the PIR modules send the USER_PRESENCE notification:

    • RE: PIR sensor to turn on LED strip

      @sdetweil said in PIR sensor to turn on LED strip:

      use my updated fork…
      https://github.com/sdetweil/MMM-PiLights
      it responds to the PIR modules USER_PRESENCE notification (true = turn on, false = turn off)
      if lights are off and on is sent, it will restore the previous sequence set with the normal
      SEQUENCE notification

      Thanks @sdetweil

      Let’s see if I understand:

      • By default the LEDs will be off, until the “MMM-GPIO-Notifications” module detects something.
      • If the PIR detects the movement the “MMM-GPIO-Notifications” module will send the notification USER_PRESENCE = true and the LEDs will turn on
      • After some time without movement the “MMM-GPIO-Notifications” module will send the notification USER_PRESENCE = false and the LEDs will turn off

      Correct?

      I’m not a developer, but I’m still trying to understand your change in the code:

      else if (notification === ' USER_PRESENCE'){
                  if(payload == false){
                      this.leds.allOFF();
                  } else {
                      // user present, restore the last active sequence
                      Promise.resolve(this.runSequence(this.lastSequence.sequence, thi,lastSequence.iterations,this.lastSequence.delay)
                      .catch((err) => {
                          this.log('user present Sequence error: ' + err.message);
                      }));

      why can’t I see this notification in the code?

      (notification === ' USER_PRESENCE'){
                  if(payload == true){
                      this.leds.allON();
                  }

      Thanks again!

      what actions would u like the LEDs to do on notification? and what would u think the notification ID string should be?

      Initially it would be enough to turn on the LEDs at the same time as the monitor is turned on and turn them off when the monitor is turned off.

      For the notification I believe that the module that manages the LEDs should respond to a notification such as “LightOn-White” and “LightOff-White” generated by the module that manages the PIR sensor variations.
      I hope I haven’t said too many wrong things … 🤞

    • PIR sensor to turn on LED strip

      Hello everybody,
      I am moving forward with my MM project and was wondering if it would be possible to activate an LED strip when the PIR sensor detects motion.

      In particular, I use the following modules for the PIR:
      MMM-GPIO-Notifications: https://github.com/Tom-Hirschberger/MMM-GPIO-Notifications
      MMM-Screen-Powersave-Notification: https://github.com/Tom-Hirschberger/MMM-Screen-Powersave-Notification

      Is there a module capable of controlling an LED strip using notifications?
      Perhaps using the notifications of the module “MMM-GPIO-Notifications” …

      Thank you all.
