@sdetweil I am very jealous!! I have being working on this module for weeks now. I have finally got to this stage… [image: 1561319130519-85fe41d2-5626-4718-b248-ed15dad6947d-image.png] I get Chimes when MM first start up. Its just now I can’t get to prove that my mic is working or get Assistant to output any sound or answer/recognise any voice commands. Clearly you got to this stage. What would you advise my next actions be please? Sounds like youre doing a great job anyway. Would love to see it. Jonathan

@morozgrafix Spot on, I do my dev on my MacBook and test in Chrome. I bet that’s what’s messing with it.

Basically yes, that’s what I’m trying to do. Would that work, assuming I set it up as a new module according to the guidelines you sent earlier? (thank you by the way, that helped a lot). Essentially I’m just trying to be able to pull data from my MongoDB (I will probably roll this into its own module – right now I’ve committed the sin of modifying app.js directly until I get my bearings). Then use the Mongo data to populate data in other modules (think Hello World, Compliments, etc.). It sounds like I will need to create a second module that essentially takes my Mongo data and sends it in the form of a JSON object variable to other modules using sendNotification() and then have them update the DOM to reflect the change. I know there are some nuances, but for the sake of brevity, am I generalizing/thinking about it correctly?

Hey guys I’m pretty new to this whole magic mirror thing. I don’t want my mirror on all the time so I wanted to turn the display on and off with my voice. This is the only post I could find trying to accomplish that. So once i get the Voice Control module from alexyak working, how do I get this to work? I’m confused as to where to put the files.

I find the sound quality of my USB cam for voice recording quite usable. What’s more important for the snowboy recognition to be more accurate is to record your own voice for the model on the same device you will be using it after.
