@daenick alright looks like your tip worked…i think. I’m still getting the following error but showing it was installed successfully npm WARN grunt-yamllint@0.2.0 requires a peer of grunt@~0.4.0 but none was installed. [image: 1491171757270-screen-shot-2017-04-02-at-11.21.38-pm.png] Does this mean installation was actually successful or do i need to update/install something else? @AAPS when i try npm start i get the following: > magicmirror@2.1.1 start /home/pi/MagicMirror > sh run-start.sh

Just got myself a “core”-file again in the MM root. :) I’m now sure it’s because Electron is crashing. So, it’s probably a memory dump. Still don’t really know why Electron is crashing. It’s not crashing all the time. Just sometimes. But then, I do have lot’s of modules going… :)

White screen after screen resumes from PIR, or sometimes randomly - can still access via ssh, requires restart sometimes

@Mar I don’t know the concrete differences between these commands. I guess you will have to look at the man pages, or search for some documentation. I would just use the commands, which work (best) for your Pi. Also why is it a 2 and not a 7 in your last command? Which of these commands works best for a Pi is probably depending on model, firmware, and maybe other things.

On line 51 of the compliments.js it says “this.complimentFile((response) => {” but this throws up an error with Midori which looks like it doesnt support E6 Arrow functions. I had this issue with either the MMM-Buttons or MMM-ProfileSwitcher (cant remember) module and changing it back out to a regular function solved the issue after a lot of time spent debugging. I know there are now quite a lot of people who are using the Pi Zero to run this as it runs perfectly, is there a way to perhaps get some consistency around and not use these in modules until its supported? Midori is the only browser that seems to run on the Pi Zero without issues.

@Mar Good thing you found this error. Very strange, that it did not complain on my Pi before.

Yes you should be able to start everything up… then walk away and see what happens… what I did was once the mirror was loaded I took a towel and covered the PIR Sensor… ;) Then once the screen went out I took it off and waved my hand in front of it and it came back on :)

Can Pi3 run MM2 and OpenHab effectively?

Right now I’m running everything separately (MM2 and OpenHab) on 2 separate RP3s. I’m just wondering if I can run OpenHab (running most of the things in my house) and Magic Mirror 2 on the same RPi3 without any performance issues? I would require this to be pretty stable and the family uses OpenHab and not being techy wouldnt be very impressed if it suddenly went down lol. Not sure my wife would know where to start fixing things. I figure the MM is always on (using a PIR sensor for the screen) and if it has extra bandwidth to run OpenHab might as well do them on the same board that way I can free up the other Pi. I also just got a new Pi Zero specifically for running the MM but then I can also use this for something else. I’ve been looking around but havent found much on the topic and I can’t say that I’m an expert on Linux resourcing etc…
