I Really like The functionality that comes with Alexa … However I Really hate To give out My Data to a company
So My Current Attempt Is a offline Voice recognition Called snips that Works pretty well for me (I use a 4mic Array And it can recognise what I say from a distance of 5m with background Music without any problems) in Basic in snips You can create own assistants pretty easily (for me one of The Main reasons to use it Is that The Automated Speech recognition Is Not only avaible in English but for example in German Aswell)
after recognising a intents it sends it via mqtt which You can acces with Most IOT devices or for MM2 there Is already a MQTT module

Well Thats My current Attempt
While I Really like that it I can “easily” use it for everything in My house And have German As language The big disadvantage Is obviously that it Is a Second software And so definetly Not Really a one Click installation Thats Really easy To use for every User that just wants The Thing To work without any hazzle

I thought I would center the monitor like you said, however I don’t know how settings for the touch frame are changed because using a 32’’ touch frame with a 31,5 inches screen in standard the touch should be a little bit off
Or do I miss something?

found a good monitor for myself which would be 31.5’’
Is there a easy way to map those 32’’ IR frames you use to this slightly smaller monitor?

Since they released a German version of the Automated speech recognition I will probably especially use this one.
Although it obviously still has far more problems than the english one (especiall with ä, ö, ü), but I am in their official discord channel and they seem to work on fixes right now

And still searching for the stuff I will use to build my first mirror aswell ^^

I will get my microphone During this Week And then will Start To Look into a combination of Magic Mirror And snips

Snips seems To Be pretty Nice because
They allow offline sprechen recognition (I just don’t like big tech companies to Listen To me)
And in Addition Support more complex commands aswell
They use MQTT As Communication which should Be possible To Integrator into MagicMirror with The MQTT module quite easily

Will give Snips a try when I get my microphone array. Seems like the just released ther German automated speech recognition a few days ago

Seems pretty easy in general (I guess the hardest thing will be talking to the modules since snips uses python and here it’s java script while I am usually only using c++ lmao)

Edit: Just realised there is already a mqtt module for MagicMirror2 that should make it quite a bit easier

After show modules the screen is crowded.

SHOW MODULES by default will show ALL modules. So, if you have several pages employed it can get busy real fast. Still, it was intentional to have the ability to hide/show all modules, individual modules and pages of modules.

What is The Computer Setup You use?
And yes seems like it Shows Modules from other Pages than Page one Aswell white The command Show Modules
Although I am Not sure wether that isn’t intended As there Is The command Show Page 1 Aswell

yes the ps3 eye is connected via USB

yeah, that was my first thought as well but thought it would be better to ask people that already did it because buying an FHD that looks crappy later is kind of unnecessary as well.

searching for the monitor currently aswell.
Especially not sure wether full hd is enough for 32’’ as it is only around 70ppi.
But for sure would be quite a bit cheaper than 4k.

yeah but you still need to train it for the language

oh I mean that in case he manages it he could share it :)
I will probably go with the english voice control for now because there are already many working modules out there
