      Didn’t see your post, cause i was writing.
      But i never understood your temperature and your System Load :D
      even with using raspbian Lite and just installing MM i never got this results. Even when the Pi lays on my table with heatsinks.^^
      was always above 50°
      Maybe u are sitting in an igloo XD

      I assure you, these numbers are correct. That’s with a full suite of modules running on a Pi3 B mirror. I installed heat sinks in the beginning but added a fan later on when I was not happy with the temperatures I was seeing. Here is a video taken moments ago

      @rvk1983

      You must have a ‘two way’ mirror no matter where you purchase it from. A standard mirror will not work for MM. Notice that your Tap Plastics link states that it is a two way mirror. Also notice that your Home Depot link does NOT state two way mirror.

    • RE: What do you love about your MM ?

      @roger-0

      Discovering the Pi and MM led me to learning how to code, specifically for MM itself. No previous experience with coding , the Pi, or Linux. It captivated me and thanks to a couple of very kind users (one in particular) I was shown some basics and read as much as I could to try to learn. It was also helpful for me to look at the code of existing modules, trying to understand what and how things worked.

      Anyway, what do I love about it?

    • RE: Complete Walkthrough - Install MagicMirror on a PC - Windows 7/10

      @djsunrise19

      I am no longer running MM on Windows. It doesn’t make sense to me. I’ve become a huge fan of ubuntu. I would recommend finding the version that works best for you. It takes a little time but it’s worth it. For me, ubuntu 16.04 is rock solid and works on every machine I’ve installed it on. I had some trouble with earlier and later versions.

      IMHO, for MM, ubuntu is the way to go. You might have some trouble initially but once you find the right combination you’ll be happy with it. And hey, I think you can rotate the screen from inside ubuntu preferences. I have 2 microphones. One usb and one 3.5mm jack version. Both work with no issue under ubuntu. Even the laptops I use with ubuntu have no issue with the integrated microphones.

    • RE: monitor - disassemble or not?

      @banbutcher

      Personally, I want the mirror as close to the monitor glass as possible. I’ve made a few mirrors. In all cases, that meant removing the front bezel from the monitor at the very least. With that in mind, do it whatever way makes you happiest. :-)

      @cowboysdude

      You, and your modules, are so annoying. ;-)

      For years now, I’ve been a huge fan of the way you design and display your modules. To this day, I still use NOAA3 even though I have a few weather modules of my own. I lack the vision that you obviously have. Don’t let this go to your head. You’re still annoying. :-)

      Peace bro!

    • RE: Messed up CSS between Portrait and Landscape monitors

      @Damian

      Have you tried renaming your custom.css file and using the default (empty)? Then, taking the entries from your renamed css file, one by one, and adding them to your new custom.css file? That would be my approach, for what it’s worth.

    • RE: Research for Basic Magic Mirror

      @ruff-hi

      Really, just about any monitor will work. However, looking at your link, I noticed the ports come straight out the back of the unit. In most cases, it’s preferable to have the ports facing down towards the floor, especially if you’re putting this in a frame. With the ports facing downward, the frame doesn’t have to be as “thick”, keeping it closer to the wall where you hang it.

      Personally, I’d make my priority the mirror glass itself and pick up a 2nd hand monitor.

      That’s just my opinion. Take it for what it’s worth.

      Peace

      cd MagicMirror -then git pull -then npm install

      That should work. git commands and npm commands should work.

      sudo will not.

      IF you have a working config before you make ANY changes to it copy it to config.bak that way you’ll always have a GOOD working config file…

      This is excellent advice!

      While MM is running, press these keys at the same time:

      Default Display Size = Control and 0 (That’s a zero)

      Zoom In = Control and Shift and = (That’s an equals sign)

      Zoom Out = Control and - (That’s a dash/minus sign)

    • RE: How to apply changes on the MM other than reboot? ftp?

      @noorm91

      Ok, this is how I do it.
      While viewing the Pi via VNC, I press the Alt key
      This drops a menu bar down at the top of MM.
      You may not see your mouse/cursor until you move it all the way up into the menu bar.
      The far left menu has Quit in it.

      Relaunch the way you normally would launch MM

    • RE: How can I set the Zoom on MM?

      @Damian

      These should survive a reboot.

      Default Display Size = Control and 0 (That’s a zero)

      Zoom In = Control and Shift and = (That’s an equals sign)

      Zoom Out = Control and - (That’s a dash/minus sign)

      Unless you have code that overrides it

      Have you disabled the screensaver? The easiest, most common way of doing that is to install xscreensaver and disable the screensaver that way

      I’m sure I will go for the weaker version of MMM.Lucy for my Pi MM

      Suggestion: Don’t even try to use the animated.gif of the face on your Pi. That will surely bring it to a screeching halt. Use a simple picture file, or none.
