RE: MMM-Remote-Control: default hidden
@DigiDadbod that module’s behaviour is correct. It saves all the changes for the current run. Restarting means all settings are ready from the config.js so the MM starts with default setting, not changed by RC
-
RE: "No Signal" message when PIR sensor is triggered
@steverichab with mmm-remotecontrol you can “hide” all modules. So you will get a clear black screen without “no signal” message.

RE: Notification issued from MMM-MQTTbridge but nothing happens
@fribse said in Notification issued from MMM-MQTTbridge but nothing happens:
notiID: “‘REMOTE_ACTION’”,
Try to remove double quotes here in config

RE: Notification issued from MMM-MQTTbridge but nothing happens
@fribse said in Notification issued from MMM-MQTTbridge but nothing happens:
0|mm | [MQTT bridge] MQTT message received. Topic: bathroom/mirror, message: MONITOROFF
0|mm | [2020-10-16 09:23:53.728] [LOG]
0|mm | [MQTT bridge] MQTT -> NOTI issued: ‘REMOTE_ACTION’, payload: {action: ‘MONITOROFF’ }Seems that mqttbridg isseued the predefined noti so the problem is with nite receiving by remcontrol or with noti processing by remote control.
Send as well console log here -
RE: MMM-MQTTbridge doesn't seem to report USER_PRESENCE correctly?
@fribse please send here as well console log. Also, could you please wait and check wat is happening when FALSE is sent by user_presence for the second time.
E.g. it would help full to see behaviour : false, true, … false -
RE: MMM-MQTTbridge
@KSumwalt please update the module and try once more. If the problem will exist, send here your logs

RE: MMM-MQTTbridge
the module is working. try to reinstall it and check the configuration once more.
Here is the community member says that he uses module perfectly https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/13726/mmm-ledstripcontrol-control-a-led-strip-with-optional-pong-game-support@Mrtrol2013 said in MMM-MQTTbridge:
Can I use this module to manage MMM-pages?
Yes.

RE: MMM-MQTTbridge
Version 1.1 released https://github.com/sergge1/MMM-MQTTbridge
Code updated with the help of community members.
Now,-
mqtt topics introduced into mqttDictionary. This allows now:
– Subscribe to that specific topic from the mqttDictionary.
– now you can specify different behavior for the same payload from different topics,
e.g. if you got the mqttPayload “20” at “kitchen/temperature” topic and at “kitchen/humiduty” topic - different Command could be executed (before module recognized only payload for all the topics subscribed); -
Now, if notiPayload or mqttPayload are not specified within mqttDictionary or notiDictionary, the respective payload from mqtt or noti will be sent as payload for noti or mqtt.
E.g. if MM receives the mqtt message at “kitchen/temperature” with payload “20”, and mqttDictionary does not have specified payload at all - the “20” will go as payload for issued Noti. -
All errors of several mqtt connections disappear;
-
mqttBridgeFormatOnly - not used anymore;
-
Changed mqttDictionary according to notiDictionary. Subscription to topic only once
Please do not forget to change the config section and mqttDictionary accroding to the new structure.

RE: My magic mirror project
@mmcghee I am using 5v 12a ac/dc power supply inside the frame.
It is used for power of RPi, sound amplifier with 2 speakers, 2.5m of ws2812b LED strip. Also I have built in mic and pir sensor and Bluetooth module (external). Also 3 physical buttons: power off everything, RPi reset and turnoff LED strip. -
RE: Wich display for my Smart Mirror?
@designs-by-Lucht recommend to use VA monitor. Best contrast , so real black during night and high white during day.
Check this out
*Both TN and IPS panels tend to have a contrast ratio around 1000:1, although in my testing I have noted some differences. TN panels tend to have the lowest contrast ratios when calibrated, with an entry-level panel sitting between 700:1 and 900:1 and good panels pushing up to that 1000:1 mark. IPS has a larger range, I’ve seen some as low as 700:1 like TNs, however the very best tend to push up higher than TN, with 1200:1 as the upper range for desktop monitors and some laptop-grade displays reaching as high as 1500:1.Neither TN nor IPS get to the range of VA though. Entry-level VA panels start with a contrast ratio of 2000:1 from those that I’ve tested, with the best easily exceeding 4500:1, although 3000:1 is a typical figure for most monitors. TVs make extensive use of VA panels and there contrast ratios can be even higher. It’s not unusual to see over 6000:1. So if you want deep blacks and high contrast ratios, you’ll need to go with something VA*
