    • RE: [ORDER CLOSED] Two way mirror order in Germany

@fox Chris said that he will probably not make a second order.

@Goldjunge_Chriz said in Two way mirror order in Germany:
You do not have to do anything. I finally promised. A man a word

But I never thought it would be so much time and effort. So I think that it will be a one-time thing

    • RE: [ORDER CLOSED] Two way mirror order in Germany

I’d like to confirm my order with the measurements 0.36 x 1.0 m (0.36 m², paying 0.4 m²), polished edges.

    • RE: [ORDER CLOSED] Two way mirror order in Germany

      @Goldjunge_Chriz My current order is a 0.36 x 1.0 m mirror for a 27 zoll monitor like this.
      I will (probably) use the BenQ GL2760H (contrast 1000:1, brightness 300 nits = 300 cd/m²).
Will I have any problems with bleeding when the mirror is so much larger?

    • RE: Mirror larger than monitor

@strawberry-3.141 I’ll use the two way mirror form Germany (light transmisson 24 percent)and (probably) the BenQ GL2760H (contrast 1000:1, brightness 300 nits = 300 cd/m²) if you can get something out of it.

@strawberry-3.141 How bad could it get? Sorry, I have no experience with mirrors.
Do you have any pictures how it could look like?
      (I changed/updated my first question)

    • RE: Mirror larger than monitor

Is there any downside when the mirror is bigger (*1,5 or *2) than the monitor behind it?
For example my current idea would look like this:

    • Monitor panel: TN vs IPS vs VA

      Hey,
I am looking for the last part of my magic mirror, the monitor.
When searching for a good monitor, the question arises which monitor panel to use.
I read that IPS panel are better than their alternatives, but is it worth the ~100€ price increase?
Currently I am looking at the BenQ GL2760H as a TN monitor (185 €) versus the Dell U2414H (250 €).

    • RE: [ORDER CLOSED] Two way mirror order in Germany

I’d like to confirm my order, too.
Size: 0.36m * 1.0m (I get the exact size on monday or tuesday. Is there any way that I may change it then? Max 4 cm change)
      Area: 0.36m²
      Location: Passau, Germany
      Additional comments: Polished edges
      Delivery please

    • RE: [ORDER CLOSED] Two way mirror order in Germany

I’d like to order a mirror, too. I am still not certain of the size, but it will be around 1.0 x 0.34 to 0.4 m (I will give you my final measurements tomorrow evening). I live in Passau right now, so pickup is not a option for me.
One question: How do the edges (polished, …) change the price? I am sorry, if you have already mentioned it, but I did not read every answer in the thread.

    • RE: Best monitor settings?

      Any update?

My plan was to use the same smart mirror as you. Were you able to fix the problem?

      What screen did you use?

@bhepler Which picamera did you use? The normal or the NoIR version?

    • Magic mirror as thin as possible

      Hey,
I want to build a magic mirror for my wardrobe and therefore it should be as thin as possible (similiar to this normal mirror).
I guess that a laptop screen would be the best solution, but does anyone have experience with a thin monitor or tv?
And can anyone recommend a good laptop screen?

    • Motion detection: PIR sensor vs picamera

      Hey,
I am currently looking for a way to turn my magic mirror on/off depending on when somebody is close to it.
Does anyone have experience with a PIR sensor, the picamera or any other hardware I could use?
