@r0mantic0 you can get any mirror you like, neither the ir frame or touchfoil cares about what mirror you use.

The only thing I can think of is that the touchfoil could be a bit cranky if you use an acrylic mirror and not glass, due to the fact that touchfoils are capacative.

@r0mantic0 I was thinking to use a mirror from the company Pilkington (MirroView OR Mirropane Spy). Then I think the IR frame should 100% work, but maybe it is better to use a touchfoil in this case (?)

@r0mantic0 the pilkington mirroview will be a good choice, personally I would go with the touchfoil, then you have no limitations on how the frame is built, the ir frame need to protrude a bit from the glass.

I asked the company infotronik for the touch foil, the answer was:

the problem with the touch foil: the mirror contain metalic components which would cause problems using the touch foil

the problem with the IR frame is that it can’t be used behind the mirror

so i thing the best solution would be the IR frame… but in some forums I was reading also that with the mirror can be used either a touch foil or the IR frame… hmmm, now I am confused

@r0mantic0 Haven’t thought about that at all, so had to try it, and they are indeed correct, the metal coating in the mirror acts as a conductor and anywhere you touch on the mirror gets amplified over the entire area. And thus renders the touchfoil useless.

              Crap.

Need a new solution for my own mirror now.

@AlessandroRa said in Touch screen over two way mirror:

I’m still working on my mirror, but I’ve bought a IR frame from aliexpress and it works good!

                Which size did you get?

Anyone have a forum or link for the photobooth builds?
This would also be so fun to build and have but on the coding side I’m no expert. On every thing else I’m handy enough to find solutions I think.

                      Hi,

is anybody solve the problem with foil behind mirror? I asked several company’s for info and thay tell me that Projected capacitive will be the best sollution but miror may not contain metal inside. Is thare mirror / glass that is good to use with foil which does not create interference?
                      Is somebody succeed with this?
