      @PatrickGlatz the config file looks fine to me and you don’t have to add the profiles anywhere else than in the module itself.

      About the ModuleScheduler, I wrote a how to here about how to use it with this module. Sure you have that correctly set up?

      I will copy paste your config into mine tomorrow morning and see if I can reproduce it.

        Hey Tosti, thanks for the fast reply. Your help is warmly welcome.

        As you can see in the minimal example I’m only try to get MMM-ProfileSwitcher to work. The other module is not in my minimal config since I want to isolate the issue. :question:

        Of course I have read the usage instruction you mentioned in your link, but your MMM will come first this MMM will come second. True story. It’s a fact. (it was only a try to see wether this works or not :smirk: ).

        I’m looking forward to hear from you.

        Btw: My next steps would be to set up a new raspbian image and install everything from scratch with just your MMM. But this is a bit of effort and I don’t want to do this if there are any options left.

        Regards
        Patrick

          @PatrickGlatz
          I just gave it a look and I know what’s wrong. The problem is that the code only looks at those times when switching to a different profile than the default profile. So it’s not a fault on your side but on mine.
          Solution: I already solved it on my local pc and will upload the fix later today uploaded. All you will have to do is pull the new changes and the config you showed should work without a problem :)

          Sorry for the inconvenience, a mistake on my part. Thank you for letting me know!

          Greetings
          Brian

            Hi! Thanks for this module, seems it is what I’m looking for.
            Unfortunately, I very new with all this and wolud like to know if there is a step by step guide for this, for example, if I want so show the clock and the wheather in one profile, and in other news feed… is this possible?

            Kind regards

              @pepemujica Yes this is totally possible! Unfortunatly there is no step by step guide for this. However I did write a small how-to here.

              In your example you would have to give the weather and clock module the same profile name in classes and give the news feed a different one.

              Is that link enough information? If not let me know and I will try to explain it more in depth.

                @tosti007 Thanks for answering, at the moment, can’t find where to change the profile name in classes, is it in a specific file?

                  @pepemujica You can set them in your config file. In this example the profile will be TestA for the clock module.

                  {
                  	module: 'clock',
                  	position: 'top_right',
                  	classes: 'TestA'
                  },

                      @tosti007 Great! I got it. Is this module compatible with MMM-Voice? So I can change between profiles just with voice?

                        @pepemujica Unfortunatly not, that’s up to the maker of MMM-Voice. It would be easiest to ask him to implement it for you, writing a tutorial for it would probably be too complicated.

                          @tosti007 And is it there any way to use it with the remote control? I mean, I’ve seen in the forum people who could do it, but I can’t figure how

                            If you have installed MMM-Remote-Control and set up some classes (e.g. “default”, “someclass”), then you can switch between them by calling these URLs:

                            http://[RaspberryURL]:[port]/remote?action=NOTIFICATION& notification=CURRENT_PROFILE&payload=%22default%22
                            http://[RaspberryURL]:[port]/remote?action=NOTIFICATION& notification=CURRENT_PROFILE&payload=%22someclass%22

                            (Remove the whitespace between & and notification. “& not” gets converted to ¬ and i dont know how to prevent this :D)

                              @Anhalter42 said in MMM-ProfileSwitcher, A Profile/User/Layout Switching Module:

                              ?action=NOTIFICATION& notification=CURRENT_PROFILE&payload=%22default%22

                              Awesome!!
                              And is it possible to add a shortcut in the control menu so there is no need to acces via url?

                                @Anhalter42 because I’ve added this
                                Custom

                                In the mirror it goes to the Custom profile, but in the remote control it goes to “{“status”:“success”}”

                                  yeah this is the response from MMM-Remote-Control. You can do anything with this; your browser decides to plainly display it as text: “status”: “success”. Of course in this case, you usually want to just send the command and don’t receive anything. So in general, if you don’t want to see a response like this, have a look at for example Submit form and stay on same page and especially jQuery / XMLHttpRequest.

                                  If you want it to be integrated in the Remote-Control menu (the /remote.html), you have to add it yourself or request it from the developer of the MMM-Remote-Control module (unlikely though). It’s similar to the existing options like show/hide modules etc., so it isn’t that difficult to implement.

                                        @tosti007 Yes, I’ve got something like this:

                                        <a id="link">Profile</a>

                                        document.getElementById("link").addEventListener("click", function(){
                                            const ventana = window.open("localhost/remote?action=NOTIFICATION& notification=CURRENT_PROFILE&payload=%22default%22");

                                          Hey there, perhaps I am really too stupid,. I can’t get it to run. I have this config:

                                          {
                                                      module: "MMM-ProfileSwitcher",
                                                      config: {
                                          				//includeEveryoneToDefault: true,
                                          				title: true,
                                          				enterMessages: {
                                          					"you me": "Hey %profile%!",
                                          					"me": ["looking great!"],
                                          					"you": ["looking great!"],
                                          				},
                                          				leaveMessages: {
                                          					"everyone": "C U %person%!",
                                          					"me": ["Hey why gone...?", true]
                                          				},
                                          				timers: {
                                             				 "you": {},
                                             				 "me": {},
                                          						},
                                          				enterMessages: false,
                                          				leaveMessage: false,
                                                  			},
                                                  },

                                          and a modulbar that point out this:

                                          "5": {
                                                                 module: "MMM-ProfileSwitcher",
                                                                 text: "you",
                                                                 showUrl: "http://ip:8080/remote?action=NOTIFICATION¬ification=CURRENT_PROFILE&payload=%22you%22",
                                                                 },

                                          but if I hid the bottom, nothing happens!
                                          Think I am missing something. Do I need to set anything else off? My default view is quit perfect and loading, so yes I added the classes for the modules.

                                          classes: 'me',

                                          Thank You in advance !
