      I was wondering if anyone could help with displaying a .png image that I have saved on the hard drive

      the location of the image is:

      /home/pi/MagicMirror/modules/test_png

      and the file is called test_png.png

      Thanks in advance!

          @snowman Or, if you’re really only interested in showing a single image, it may be simpler to use MMM-SimpleLogo: https://github.com/frdteknikelektro/MMM-SimpleLogo

          Problem with config or JavaScript? Copy/paste it into JSHint.

            Yes, simpler to use SimpleLogo. (A fantastic module)

            But, easier to use EasyPix. :-)

              Or without a module in custom.css:

              .region.middle.center:before { /* just an example, try with an empty region */
                  content: url(../modules/test_png.png);
              }

              Though quick, it’s not a very clean solution and could mess up modules in the same region. With some CSS knowledge you could make something like a logo appear fixed to a corner of the mirror or something like that.

                @yawns Thanks! This worked for me! I have a new png being generated every 15 minutes in a crontab, however I’m not sure how to make this module update the image every so often. Do you know how I might be able to accomplish this? Thanks in advance!

                  afaik this isn’t possible with Easy-Pix. (please correct me)

                  But maybe u give MMM-ImagesPhotos a try. With that u can set an update interval. Just put your only Photo in the directory

                    @snowman @cruunnerr You’re right. It is however baked into MMM-SimpleLogo. There is a time stamp query parameter appended to the image, so that it fetches a new version every time and does not load the cached version. Also, it has a refreshInterval config parameter to set how often it updates (e.g. "5*60*1000" for 5 minutes).

                    Problem with config or JavaScript? Copy/paste it into JSHint.
