Magic Mirror updated now doesnt work
-
@sdetweil my run-start.sh already contains the # before !bin/bash-x see below:
#!/bin/bash # use bash instead of sh ./untrack-css.sh if [ -z "$DISPLAY" ]; then #If not set DISPLAY is SSH remote or tty export DISPLAY=:0 # Set by default display fi # get the processor architecture arch=$(uname -m) false='false'all my modules have package.json and I did do a npm install. The last module I installed was mmm-remote control via the script that was on the module github page.
-
@bachoo786 you missed the -x at the end… turns on bash debug
#!/bin/bash -x -

SINCE you did the magicmirror upgrade?

@sdetweil so this is the result:

EADDRINUSE 127.0.0.1:8181
so, it looks like u have another version running,
pm2 status
pm2 stop 0then npm start
-
@sdetweil do I have to do that? I never did update the modules after I upgraded the mirror.
-

yes… if the base dependencies change, then u should update the dependencies of the modules
my automated upgrade script does all this.
-
@sdetweil nope its only one version
-
-
@sdetweil ok so what shall I do now? I am lost. I always avoid updating my magicmirror as the new update always breaks it.
-
please read my posts
do
pm2 statusif anything is running, not stopped then do
pm2 stop ?? where xx is the name or number of the item runningonce u have nothing running, then redo the npm start from the MagicMirror folder so we can diagnose the rest of the problem
-
@sdetweil ok I have done that and here is the result:

@bachoo786 ok, so the node_helper side is working ok…
now open the developers window, ctrl-shift-i, select the console tab, and scroll up to see any errors
-
@sdetweil I dont have access to the mirror now as I am not home. The thing that stopped working was when I updated MM I cannot access it anymore remotely. Before updating mm I could as my ports are also forwarded.

i don’t understand that. update app has nothing to do with ssh type access…
if u mean MMM-remotecontrol type access, correct, the mirror app is down for some reason… that is what we are debugging
-
from the prior message, the backend is happy (node_helpers, web server)
-
@sdetweil I mean when I updated my to 2.10 that’s when all the problem started. Before updating my I installed mmm remote control now I don’t know if that module has caused this issue of me not being able to access magic mirror remotely.
-
@bachoo786 ok. we need to see the front end console log thru the dev window
-
@sdetweil ok I can conclude one thing is that I cannot access my mirror from another device at home. My mirror is working but it’s not accessible from a different device. Something is blocking it or stopping it within the mirror.
My config hasn’t changed and its after the update that I cannot access it from another device.
-
@sdetweil any idea?
