monitor - disassemble or not?
-
It’s usually not hard to take it out and it allows you to have the monitor closer to the glass, it makes the monitor less thick so your frame doesn’t have to be so deep, it allows you to place your monitor more freely…
I guess it depends on the monitor, but with mine I wouldn’t have had a good result with the frame still on, it was way too clunky and thick.

i have a 23" LG monitor, thin enough but i might still look at removing the plastic!
thanks folks! :)

Personally, I want the mirror as close to the monitor glass as possible. I’ve made a few mirrors. In all cases, that meant removing the front bezel from the monitor at the very least. With that in mind, do it whatever way makes you happiest. :-)

@banbutcher
I wish I knew how to disassemble a monitor
I tried it once but the monitor did not survive because of short circuitSo far I just glued the mirror glas onto the frame of my 24 inch Benq monitor

@thedoorsfanatic clearly you cut a wire when pulling it apart. use plastic, patience, and small moves.

@thedoorsfanatic Try to find a guide on youtube on how to disassemble a benq monitor. I just googled for “disassebmle benq monitor” and found a few videos on yt. Maybe your model is amongst them.
