            Hi together,

long weekend - perfect to finish the mirror hardware.
Please find attached some pictures of the assembly + first impressions of the running mirror.
(due to i still struggling to bring my java software to the raspberry, there are some cables to the laptop who will disappear in the final setup).

Overall I´m satisfied, I believe I need to play a little bit with the light conditions and install a spot on top of the mirror to compensate the light absorbation of the mirror.

Might it be possible to craft a glass working like a “silver reflected sun-glass”?

Hi @mantha , great to see your mirror goal without any broken corners. ;-)

Nice work. Great idea with your AL-Rail.

What kind of modules you are using? Standard?
              I don’t think so!

No it is a own development! The objective of the project was to get in touch with advanced AI and IoT.
I struggled to get this working with Node.js and python. So I failed back to Java with a Javafx frontend.

@Binog sure, once when it is finished. Currently there are some “workarounds” like hard coded login to mercedes connect.me for controlling the auxheat what prevent me from sharing…

The image of the car interieur is from the Mercedes Connect Me webapp, isn’t it? 👍 Did you manage to show/control the auxheat from your mirror?

                          Hi all you DIYer !
got my mirror finished this weekend and just want to show you the result. Unfortunately, the mirrorglas itself is not what I’ve expected, in particuler under my light conditions it’s to dark. Maybe I’ll replace it in the future. Anyway this should not come over as criticism, @Goldjunge_Chriz made a great job and and I want to say thanks again.0_1492519591578_Pic001.jpg 0_1492519807695_Pic002.jpg 0_1492519832547_Pic003.jpg

@Woody what happens if you add a light source above or in front of the mirror? Does it seem “clearer”??

@mantha I love the design you made with the frame. Any possibility of revealing where you found the materials (particularly the aluminum)? Also, what size is the mirror and monitor? :) Thanks

@Advokaten Yes, I tried several light scenarios with different but not satisfying results.

With which glue can i fix the mirror at a wodden plate? I try it at weekend with mirror Mounting Tape from Tesa at the edges of the mirror but some hours later the mirror
Dissolved itself. The other problem is that the tape is white and so i can see it Through the mirror.
At next i will try “tesa doppelseitiges Montageband Powerbond”. This is black and so i hope that it would be nott seen through the mirror.

@Ali-Baba Realy nice idea and work. Instead of glue or tapes you can use a alu u-strip screwed to the wodden plate. So you can remove the mirror easier in the future.

Good Idea but i´m worry that the mirror is than not ckose to the wood and it will comes some light behind the mmirror.

@Ali-Baba The u-strip can be a little bit embedded or you can use felt. ;)
