      Hi Folks,

Today i recieved an emal from The Pie Hut:

      Three New Raspberry Pi’s Released!

It’s here, the one you’ve all been waiting for: It’s Raspberry Pi 4 day. So much has been crammed into the newest version of our favourite SBC, we don’t even know where to begin!
The camera, display, A/V jack, POE pins, on board bluetooth and wifi have returned, but there’s a tasty list of new additions to the 4. So lets have a quick run down of the exciting new tech on offer:
      • New 64-bit 1.5GHz quad core Cortex-A72 (Arm v8)
      • 1GB, 2GB or 4GB of memory, your choice
      • Two new micro HDMI slots for dual screen action at 4K
      • 5V DC power via USB-C (with a new minimum 3A current)
      • USB 3.0 capability

I saw it as well. Need to check my new Face Reco Module with the new Pi, maybe it’s worth to change.

hmmmm. somewhat expensive (only in Germany?)

Recently I’ve purchased several stronger alternatives - Khadas Edge-V around $100, NVIDIA Jetson nano $100 also.
I will buy this one also for test, but could it be better than those?

What about the Ethernet is it shared with the USB? 4GB of Ram that is my dream! That means I can do away with the 12 hour Cron job 😁

Ethernet is not shared as far as I can tell

I was going to buy it from Germany too thinking at the good prices I got for the Pi 3 B, but at this round for some reason it is WAY cheaper (EUR 59 + shipping) to buy it from Italy for me.

However let’s see what comes out with MagicMirror once I get it delivered (they say 24h) especially by using the new Raspbian Buster… :crossed_fingers_medium_skin_tone:

They will be R910 in South Africa when they arrive which makes them around 56 Euro.

I was so hyped by this unexpected message I needed to order one (the 4gb of course).

Please mind that it’s going to have a new kernel and current Raspbian Stretch will presumably not work on this one. A new Raspbian (Buster) has already been released. So we’ll have to see if MM runs on it without problems…

                                @dazza120 yes.

You can read here a very good article about all the good things it can do and how the Pi 4 is performing compared to the previous generation. :)
