hi…Hayyat Ali here…i m a student of BS computer science.Fantastic project I m interested to build a magic mirror for my semester project but really don’t know how should i start like from where to start???what’s the whole procedure of building this fantastic magic mirror…which operating system,which hardware should i use???plzzz guide me properly so that i will b able to build my own magic mirror and enhance my learning…eagerly waiting for your guidance and help…

Here you will find a good installation guide.
I would suggest that you use a Raspberry Pi 3 or 4. (4 was just released, so maybe not in stock everywhere). And then you need a Display and a Mirror (2 Way Mirror / Spy Mirror). And finally build a frame where you can all put togheter.
Checkout the Forum and you will find a lot examples.
you got the source code of magic mirror from github???
that source code is compatible with Raspberry Pi 3 or 4???
and plzz also tell the code that is placed on github contains errors or the error free code???

@HayyatAli yes, code on GitHub works for many different hardware and os combinations.
I use pi 3b+, odroid, and Jetson nano. Raspian and Ubuntu.
Error free? No such thing. Not many errors in base anymore. Modules… It depends.
This is a project, not a product. There is no official support, but community of users helps a lot.
You are welcome to fix and submit errors u find. And make enhancements and submit too.

I’ve already built four or five magic mirrors now. I always proceed the same way:
- Buying the Raspberry Pi, as @nischi has already posted
- Buy a monitor the size you want to install later.
Please make sure that you get a monitor that switches to sleep mode without a signal on HDMI and does not switch to a completely green or blue screen for minutes before
- Installation of Raspian
- Installing Magic Mirror
(just follow the hint from @nischi here)
- Installation of additional components such as motion detectors or a button to reboot the Raspberry
- then run the whole thing without wooden frame and mirror for a few days/weeks to detect bugs, try modules, detect incompatibilities, etc.
- Construction of a frame from e.g. wood
Then take measurements for the mirror glass.
- Purchase of a spy mirror
- Assembly of components
Here you can find a building instruction for my big mirror in the bathroom. I mounted an aluminium plate behind the spy mirror, which gives the whole thing stability, holds the monitor elegantly and ensures that no light falls through the spy mirror from behind.
