Ok, here’s a screen shot of what it looks like…

      0_1534233213612_Screenshot (29).png

As you can see… It says ‘NFL Pre-Season 2017’ in the header.

the actual list of games are from the final regular season week of 2017.

It doesn’t show, in the Readme regarding any modes to use in the config.

added the ‘focus_on’ in the config, nothing changed…

      0_1534233142592_Screenshot (44).png

which by the way, is also not explained or covered in the Readme,

      0_1534233048779_Screenshot (45).png

I’ve had this module for quite a while now, have never been informed of any changes.
But, I decided to trash it and restart it with a fresh install of the module…

I noticed several differences in the first one I had and the current one…

the files of the one I’ve had for a while…
      0_1534233660047_Screenshot (46).png

the files of the one I downloaded and installed a little while ago…
      0_1534233742373_Screenshot (47).png

this is the difference of the MMM-NFL.js files…
      0_1534234651388_Screenshot (48).png

the latest one shows modes for Pre-Season, Regular-Season, & Post-Season…

If I use the modes, Pre & Post, I get a blank mirror, and this error in my terminal…
      0_1534234889112_Screenshot (38).png

here’s what it looks like with the 'Regular-Season" mode and the ‘focus_on’ added in the config…
      0_1534234291088_Screenshot (49).png

I also get a blank screen with the same error in my terminal when leaving out the mode and the focus_on.

So, now you can see why I have had so many problems with it!

After further research, I found that the dependencies needed to be manually installed.
this fixed the blank pages problem.

focus_on has been there for over a year…so not sure what readme you’re looking at but on Github it is clearly in the readme and has been…

          ` Config Options
              Option	Default	Description
colored	false	Remove black/white filter of logos/helmets.
helmets	false	Show helmets instead of logo.
focus_on	false	Display only matches with teams of this array e.g. ['NYG', 'DAL'].
format	'ddd h:mm'	In which format the date should be displayed. All Options
reloadInterval	1800000 (30 mins)	How often should the data be fetched

As for pre season scores…it’s impossible. It uses one of two urls for the data and neither show pre season…they show reg or post season…

So A. Either you’ve changed something or B. you’re not using this module…

I know this module like it was my own… it doesn’t do Pre Season football. I’m looking at the raw data…the regular and post season scores are from 2017…

            I think I figured it out…

I’ve been getting it from your repository list and not from the 3rd party list. Look at them and you’ll see the same differences I have been experiencing

@cowboysdude Hey again, I believe Im reading this right, so the 2017 is normal for now (module doesnt track preseason) and when the regular season starts we will start seeing the 2018 games/scores? No need to update any links or anything? Thanks!

Same here. I was hoping it would update but no go. I look at the url that it goes out to check and it appears that NFL.com isn’t updating it. I’m wondering if developer of this module may need to do some tweeking or instructions so we as users can.

There are several options (good and bad ones), but I’m busy. Therefore I will wait at least until this weekend, before I take an action here. Getting a new api most of the times also means rewriting most of the module which is time intensive. Maybe there are also volunteers.

Please create a github issue if you need help, so I can keep track

According to Stackoverflow the xml service is discontinued and is now using JSON for the 2018 season. Here’s the JSON file http://www.nfl.com/liveupdate/scores/scores.json

Just noticed that someone replied with an AJAX version that appeared to have the same output as the XML file. I plugged it in to the node_helper.js file and it works!

@gama the problem with this link is, that you need to change it every week. In order to work automatically you need to create a logic to change the week and seasontype and year automatically.

I previously tried to create a logic just to determine if it is regular or post season and the mirrors of the peaople started going crazy flickering regular and post season.

nfl updated the data source and is now on week 2 season 2018. so it should work now again as expected.

I’m sick of changing the data source for every season and of course this year it happened again. I’m open to discuss new data sources. The data source ideally should have the following features:

                                            • free
                                            • JSON REST API
                                            • one data feed, no switching between regular and postseason. this was always a big pain with the old API

                                            The data should contain:

                                            • score
                                            • home team
                                            • visitor team
                                            • date
                                            • time
                                            • game status: 1ST_QUARTER, 2ND_QUARTER, 3RD_QUARTER, 4TH_QUARTER, HALF_TIME, OVER_TIME, FINAL, FINAL_OVERTIME, TIE, UPCOMING
