well thank you for the link, but I could’t find a simple solution for my problem. The mirror doesn’t start also if I do the

          DISPLAY=:0 npm start

          by VNC

              Hi memebers
anyone else has an idea to get my mirror back on the screen again?
It’s frustrating for me, because the mirror with all the modules was running like a charm, but after that update …
              Thank you

Until you can fix your updated installation, you can rename your MagicMirror folder and manually install the version of MM that was working for you. At least you’ll have your mirror back

thank you Mykle1, sounds for me as it is a weekend job.
To get things right: first thing is to rename the MagicMirror folder.
Second step is to go thru the install routine https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/236/complete-setup-tutorial
Is it than possible to copy/paste the modul-folders from the renamed (old)MMfolder into the new one and and the old config.file?
I read your help in https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/5081/mm-wont-start-after-install/2
but I guess this is a different problem.
                  Thank you

                    Hi Kurt,

if I understand correctly your mirror doesn’t show up despite your pm2 “starting” it successfully!?

the run-start.sh shell script seems to be the problem.
                    This is the content:

if [ -z "$DISPLAY" ]; then #If not set DISPLAY is SSH remote or tty
export DISPLAY=:0 # Set by defaul display
                    fi
                    electron js/electron.js $1

I would assume electron has some problem starting…

                      Hi lavolp3
Bevor the update, pm2 startet the mirror, by now nothing happens at all, even no black screen etc.
do you know a way to heal the mirror?
                      Thanks

To get things right: first thing is to rename the MagicMirror folder.

Yes, but then I suggest you do a manual installation. If you run the automatic installer script you may run into trouble again.

Rename your MagicMirror folder. Go to https://github.com/MichMich/MagicMirror and click on the green Clone or download button on the right
side of the window, then click on Download ZIP. Now you have a MagicMirror-master.zip file. Double Click the file. Inside is the MagicMirror-master folder. Move that file to your /home/pi folder. Rename that folder to MagicMirror. Then in your terminal, cd into the MagicMirror directory and run npm install. When that finishes, run npm start, also in the MagicMirror directory.

At this point the mirror should run but you’ll likely get a “Create a config” message displayed. At which point you should do this.
                        https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/4528/how-to-create-a-working-config-for-absolute-beginners

Then back to your terminal, in the MagicMirror directory, run npm start. That should get your mirror running.

Then you can copy your modules, 1 by 1 into the new MagicMirror/modules folder and the entries into your new config.js file.

                        That should do it.
