pm2 doesn't start after mm update

@Mykle1
thank you Mykle1, sounds for me as it is a weekend job.
To get things right: first thing is to rename the MagicMirror folder.
Second step is to go thru the install routine https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/236/complete-setup-tutorial
Is it than possible to copy/paste the modul-folders from the renamed (old)MMfolder into the new one and and the old config.file?
I read your help in https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/5081/mm-wont-start-after-install/2
but I guess this is a different problem.
Thank you -
Hi Kurt,
if I understand correctly your mirror doesn’t show up despite your pm2 “starting” it successfully!?
the run-start.sh shell script seems to be the problem.
This is the content:if [ -z "$DISPLAY" ]; then #If not set DISPLAY is SSH remote or tty export DISPLAY=:0 # Set by defaul display fi electron js/electron.js $1
I would assume electron has some problem starting…

Bevor the update, pm2 startet the mirror, by now nothing happens at all, even no black screen etc.
do you know a way to heal the mirror?
Thanks -

Yes, but then I suggest you do a manual installation. If you run the automatic installer script you may run into trouble again.
Rename your MagicMirror folder. Go to https://github.com/MichMich/MagicMirror and click on the green Clone or download button on the right
side of the window, then click on Download ZIP. Now you have a MagicMirror-master.zip file. Double Click the file. Inside is the MagicMirror-master folder. Move that file to your /home/pi folder. Rename that folder to MagicMirror. Then in your terminal, cd into the MagicMirror directory and run npm install. When that finishes, run npm start, also in the MagicMirror directory.At this point the mirror should run but you’ll likely get a “Create a config” message displayed. At which point you should do this.
https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/4528/how-to-create-a-working-config-for-absolute-beginnersThen back to your terminal, in the MagicMirror directory, run npm start. That should get your mirror running.
Then you can copy your modules, 1 by 1 into the new MagicMirror/modules folder and the entries into your new config.js file.
That should do it.

@Mykle1
Hi Mykle1 and Thank you for your help so much!
After I followed your help step by step the mirror appeared again, but I was suprised when I put all my modul folder into the “new mm”, that together with the old config. file everything worked out fine. Could’t believe that it was that easy.
But still I have two more things where I could’t get a for me clear solution in the forum:DeprecationWarning: sys is deprecated. Use util instead.
and the second thing is, that I can`t find the Remote control funktion on my mobile phone, as I found it bevor. Here is the part of my config.
Is there the “0.0.0.0” in ipWhitelist missing, and if yes, where to put it?
Kurtvar config = { electronOptions: { }, ipWhitelist: [ "::fff:0.0.0.0/1", "::fff:128.0.0.0/2", "::fff:192.0.0.0/3", "::fff:224.0.0.0/4", "127.0.0.1", "::ffff:127.0.0.1", "::1" ],

You got lucky. The step by step says one at a time. I’m just saying. :^)
DeprecationWarning: sys is deprecated. Use util instead.
Probably, one of the modules you are using has a dependency that is outdated or no longer supported. It has nothing to do with the MM software. You can ignore that warning.

Is there the “0.0.0.0” in ipWhitelist missing, and if yes, where to put it?This has been discussed lately on the forum. Do a search by clicking the little magnifying glass, top right of the forum window. If you can’t find an answer, come back here and tell me.
:^)

@Mykle1
I tried several changes to my ipWhitelist after I read the posts in https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/5015/after-update-to-mirror-to-2-1-3-no-working-whitlist
but I couldn’t get it right. So I hope you can.
Thank you in advance

That’s a lot of pressure. :^)
Try this at the very beginning of your config.js file, so it looks like this:
var config = { port: 8080, address: "0.0.0.0", ipWhitelist: [], // Set [] to allow all IP addresses.
