@ianperrin : Cool, The colors are working now and the part for only displaying Off-Line is also working.
Thanks guys. -
@ianperrin I am able to reproduce quite often, but it is seemingly running normally?
i had several of these happen just now:
MMM-NetworkScanner received SCAN_NETWORK MMM-NetworkScanner is performing arp-scan Whoops! There was an uncaught exception... TypeError: Cannot read property 'network' of undefined at Class.scanNetworkMAC (/home/pi/MagicMirror/modules/MMM-NetworkScanner/node_helper.js:42:36) at Class.socketNotificationReceived (/home/pi/MagicMirror/modules/MMM-NetworkScanner/node_helper.js:30:18) at Socket.<anonymous> (/home/pi/MagicMirror/modules/node_modules/node_helper/index.js:113:11) at emitTwo (events.js:126:13) at Socket.emit (events.js:214:7) at /home/pi/MagicMirror/node_modules/socket.io/lib/socket.js:528:12 at _combinedTickCallback (internal/process/next_tick.js:132:7) at process._tickCallback (internal/process/next_tick.js:181:9) MagicMirror will not quit, but it might be a good idea to check why this happened. Maybe no internet connection? If you think this really is an issue, please open an issue on GitHub: https://github.com/MichMich/MagicMirror/issues

Hi,
ive installed network scanner and its working great, im looking to tweek it a bit and was hoping for a little help…i have mmm-pages installed with 3 pages and what im hoping for is when the resident is home it displays page 1 and when resident is not home it displays page 3, hoping to add voice triggers later as page 2 is a fullscreen google traffic map, but thats later! i have to get this working first. i also have mmm-remote-control installed as i think i need this, im trying to figure what commands to put in where in this code snippet.
occupiedCMD: {notification: 'REMOTE_ACTION', payload: {action: 'MONITORON'}}, vacantCMD : {notification: 'REMOTE_ACTION', payload: {action: 'MONITOROFF'}},
as always your help is very much appreciated! :)
-
occupiedCMD: {notification: 'PAGE_CHANGED', payload:{payload:1}}, vacantCMD : {notification: 'PAGE_CHANGED', payload: {'payload':'2'}},
i think it something like this but cant figure it out! :/
-
Nailed it down…
occupiedCMD: {notification: 'PAGE_CHANGED', payload: 2}, vacantCMD : {notification: 'PAGE_CHANGED', payload: 0},
happy days, now i can go to bed! :D

So i just installed this module. For some reason the name/devices does not get highlighted.
This is my code:
{ module: "MMM-NetworkScanner", position: "top_left", header: "Wie is er thuis?", config: { devices: [ { macAddress: "xx:xx", name: "Dad", icon: "male"}, { macAddress: "xx:xx", name: "Mum", icon: "female"}, { macAddress: "xx:xx", name: "Son", icon: "male"}, { macAddress: "xx:xx", name: "Daughter", icon: "female"} ], showUnknown: false },
Someone know why its not working?

Hi Guys !
I’ve added MMM-NetworkScanner to my MM and I’m not able to see the result as columns.
My code in the config.js :
{ module: "MMM-NetworkScanner", position: "top_center", header: "E-Tak Network", config: { devices: [ { ipAddress: "192.168.0.1", name: "V00", icon: "wifi", colorStateOnline: "green", colorStateOffline: "#f00", }, { ipAddress: "192.168.0.2", name: "FoxRPZ", icon: "wifi", colorStateOnline: "green", colorStateOffline: "#f00", }, { ipAddress: "192.168.0.22", name: "Greg PC", icon: "desktop", colorStateOnline: "green", colorStateOffline: "#f00", }, { ipAddress: "192.168.0.29", name: "RPIWEB", icon: "database", colorStateOnline: "green", colorStateOffline: "#f00", }, { ipAddress: "192.168.0.30", name: "RPIDNS", icon: "database", colorStateOnline: "green", colorStateOffline: "#f00", }, { ipAddress: "192.168.0.13", name: "Greg", icon: "mobile", colorStateOnline: "green", colorStateOffline: "#f00", }, { ipAddress: "192.168.0.11", name: "Elo", icon: "mobile", colorStateOnline: "green", colorStateOffline: "#f00", }, { ipAddress: "192.168.0.16", name: "PS4", icon: "gamepad", colorStateOnline: "green", colorStateOffline: "#f00", }, { ipAddress: "192.168.0.40", name: "Mibox", icon: "tv", colorStateOnline: "green", colorStateOffline: "#f00", }, ], sort: true, showUnknown: false, showOffline: true, showDeviceColums: true, residents: [], coloredState: true, keepAlive: 300, updateInterval: 5 } },
Any idea ?
Many thanks for your time ! -
cd ~/ sudo apt-get install arp-scan

@jerryp said in MMM-NetworkScanner:
cd ~/ sudo apt-get install arp-scan
It’s installed (1st step of the README) …
All it’s OK but impossible to display the result in columns. It’s always like a list.
(And sometimes, some peripherals are not OK … per ex. my computer)
