Introduce yourself!

@sdetweil Yes I know, I just wanted to say hello :)

Hi, I’m a 70 yr old grandma who was “forced” into learning how to rebuild my raspberrypi. My son made me one about 7 yrs ago but it got a corrupt card. He wasn’t able to replace it so I took it in to the geek squad as they said they could program it for me. After approximately 3 days later I got it back but nowhere near what I wanted.
Sooooo, I read some stuff, looked around, sat down and put it together. I’ve had a lot of help from the forum which I am very grateful for.
This will probably be my only project into coding, but it has been interesting and educational. -
@louise nice work… , so… make a backup after u get done this time…
(we share age btw)

hi all! I am new to this forum:avocado:

Hi all
I’m also very new to the Magic Mirror and loving the learning curve.
I’m 54 and live in Hertfordshire UK with my wife n growing kids.
I used to be a toolmaker, so have always loved making anything.
I used to run a Drone business a few years ago, but now have slowed down and enjoy 3D printing and designing and making things I need.
I’m really loving making this mirror and working out what modules I want to add.
I’m just hoping the modules keep evolving as it’s such a shame when they stop.
I hope to start to learn in the new year how to code and maybe come up with my own one day.
Loving this community and the support it brings🙏

Hi all,

I’ve been here in this forum for some time and I did not see this post.
I’m Luis, and I was born in Barranquilla, Colombia. I’m currently living Canada for about 11 years. I am 42.
I studied aeronautical engineering and I have a master in aviation management. I speak 5 languages so far. I work as a Reliability Analyst in the aerospace industry.
I started using MagicMirror in 2020 as a hobby, to learn a bit of coding. Now with all the support of the community, I have a dashboard for me and my family at home. It works as an agenda, I check my car information, music playing at home, the bus schedule, a camera and even sport results.
I’ll leave some pictures soon in “Show my mirror”.
Greetings,
Luis -
Hello guys,
I’m a newbie here. I want to say hello to all and introduce myself. I hope everyone here is doing well so far.
Thank you so much!

Hello,
I know this is an old thread but I thought I would introduce myself anyway.
My name is Bryant and I run a YouTube channel called Reviews for Nerds where I talk about tech that I use in my everyday life. I stumbled across this project while looking for Raspberry Pi projects. I love to tinker and thought the idea of having a calendar hanging in the dining room that the entire family could see would be helpful.
Thanks to all the cool modules out there my simple calendar idea has morphed into a multi-slide display that shows guest wifi password QR Code, out Bring shopping list, local current weather and forecast, family calendar, news snippets, both my channel stats, and even a youtube channel dedicated to watching birds. This has been so fun I am contemplating creating a second Mirror for my office.
Thank you all for all of the hard work put into this. I have learned a lot over the time I have spent on this project and admire the effort and talent that has gone into creating this.

@reviewsfornerds Thank you so much for your reply here with more information about your YouTube Channel. May I have the link of it? So that I can visit.

Hi All,
New user here and wanted to introduce myself.
I am creating a digital calendar with touch capabilities (hopefully😅).
I am enjoying the process. It has brought on quite a few firsts.
First time using a raspberry pi (PI4/4GB).
First time using GitHub.
First time spending so much time in Linux. It will probably be my intro into CSS and woodworking as well.
Thanks for all the great work the many contributors.

Hi Guys,
I’m a first time poster, long time lurker and owner of an MM2 system. I’ve been using MM2 for about 5 or so years now, it’s morphed many times over the years to fit my needs. Currently, it runs atop a Pi3 and has time, family shared calendar, weather, dad jokes and displays a carousel of still snapshots from my outdoor cameras.
