Currated Art
-
Hi guys,
There are commercial products out there which show currated art on a magicmirror like picture frame (glas instead of mirror).
Canvia
https://palacio.lifeFramen
http://www.myframen.comMeural
https://meural.comTwo different paths here
/1/ has anyone one of these or similar products and tried to get MMM running?
/2/ I like the idea of subscribing to an art feed. Is there a similar service/solution which can be used to have a similar experience directly on MMM?
Regards

maybe you can use this module :

@maros Thanks for jumping in. I am using MMM-Wallpaper already.
Its about a good source for curated art/pictures to show.
I found Saatchiart, Artspace, Magnum Photos, Albertina, but was not able to find a plugin which pulls comparable sources.

Of course, there is always a copyright issue to use commercial arts.
I don’t know whether any kind of public domain arts exists and be open for digital usage. If there is, making module is not so difficult, I think. -
@Sean you can find over 45k free famous oil paintings in high resolution on :
https://images.nga.govas mentioned on page :
More than 51,000 open access digital images up to 4000 pixels each are available free of charge for download and use. -
@maros Interesting. I’m watching now.
-
@Sean yes it looks great but for me the page is little bit slow :( so i’m not sure how fast it will work in module.

First thing that came to my mind:
“Every piece of art you’ve ever wanted to see – up close and searchable” by Amit Sood at TED, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjB6DQGalU0
(if you don’t watch the full 15 min, check 4:00 min)https://artsandculture.google.com/
In a quick search, I couldn’t find any current information on whether there is an API, but I’d guess so.
-
@doubleT I cannot find API. I think that is some kind of magazine not service with available API. Anyway, that’s nice program.
@Maros NGA doesn’t have API. Maybe crawling can be available, but…I found Rijks Museum (in Amsterdam) and Tate (London) and something else.
So, I madeMMM-Rijks
first.
