@fribse Nice job! I’m strictly using home assistant. Not tied to Magic Mirror at all. Home Assistant is a cool thing and I have it running my entire house :)
@Mykle1 OH I dunno… GET A HOBBY LOL
Just making a joke here but do you really need a module to tell you what to wear? Wouldn’t the weather tell you that? LOL Looks good though!
Still at it I see? LOL
@bhepler That is really AWESOME!
Actually you can get an RPI4 for
$35 US 2 gig
$ 55 US 4 gig
$75 US 8 gig
or an RPI3
Model A []
Model B [First model]
Model B+ [Final model]
They are also working on a 64 bit variant of Raspberr Pi Operating system.
There’s also a Raspberry PI beta that will allow booting from the USB slot.
Any of those would work for your mirror.
@ember1205 problem is that’s not how it works LOL in the new ‘buy me’, ‘give me’, ‘take me’ culture we live in.
I don’t answer much because people don’t ask for help…they just want someone else to do all the work. Personally I don’t want either Alexa or Google on a mirror. If you want that you may as well just go buy an Alexa or Google…
The more things change… the more they stay the same…LOL
@spblat said in Unix Fortune:
Epic! I’ll start playing with this. During my tests I will experiment with the “-s” and “-n” command line flags for adjusting fortune length and propose/submit updates. Thank you for putting this together!
You can just fork the module and do anything you want with it :)
@natrlhy I thought about getting a PWS but until I can figure out how to use my own data without sending it to someone else… I won’t do it.
@cyberphox Hold on now… NOAA may indeed cover Canada! I’ll have to check into a little further.
As it’s getting tougher to find free weather api’s this module will be using the NOAA weather.
Facts:
You will still need a key BUT the request limit is huge and there is no danger of ever being charged for data!
It will keep many of the features of NOAA3… with some enhancements which include weather warning system and more.
When in testing phase will need about 5 people to put through the test, if you’d like to volunteer send me a private message.
Could NOT find a weather provider for Europe… I asked, no one answered so that is why it’s for the US only. NOAA ONLY covers the US.
Looking for someone fluent in CSS… if interested Private Message me please.
NOAA3 was huge and took a while to develop… I imagine this one will too. Keep asking, I’ll give you answers to a time line when I can.
