Yes having a module like that would really be cool!! I could put my daughter’s pictures there… Never can see enough of my kid! :)

Seems to work pretty well! I did load it to test it to turn off at 7:50 and it took a while for the mirror to load but I assumed it was the cron preparing itself. The module is indeed off… it didn’t load the Holidays or News feed it just said loading…

So I stopped the mirror and restarted it. It loaded quicker [still slow so people don’t freak out :)]… the Holiday and News Feed did indeed load …

So the only thing NOT on the screen is the thing I attached to the scheduler… so it’s working… Only thing I can see wrong is the speed [decreased] of loading the mirror! BUT it’s not like you start and stop the mirror daily anyway so once it loads it works :)

It’s true it the goolge speech api is limited but honestly you shouldn’t be in front of your mirror all day long talking to it LOL

I initially had that problem too - you need to be logged in as PI - not root.
I’d suggest starting all over: it really wont take that long. Follow the
tutorial @strawberry-3-141 mentioned (https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/236/complete-setup-tutorial) to the letter. It was written by @KirAsh4 & made all of my problem go away. I have now done it 4 times, getting it done in less than an hour from unpacking to having it all run!

My raspberry all of a sudden even connected via WiFi, and I am expecting my hair to grow back any day now.

I’m telling you - pure magic, these guys.

Well my first time I ended up going to the magic mirror dir in terminal and installed node.js and elec myself. Then it worked. Look up how to install node and elec. they will give the commands to do it. That’s how I did it. For some reason when I had to redo everything I downloaded magic mirror and installed it directly from my sd card and it went without issue
