frameless mirror

interesting. Thanks for showing the difference between 12% and 20% so clearly.
Is the 12% better readable if you use the shutter to darken the room? -
my first mirror was built with a 12 % in a “darker” room.
There is no big window on the other side of the room:
https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/117/bangee-s-mirror/16I’ll post another project with a 12 % mirror.
the reflection of the 12% is golden. the 20% has a natural reflection.
I’ts hard to decide ;-)

Nice Mirror Bangee, where did you baught it? What is the thickness of these mirrors?
Kind regards from Germany
-
I did it by my self.
The glass is a 4mm two way mirror and the frame is aluminium 1.5 mm.and the complete mirror is about 5 cm thick
-
Your Mirror looks awesome. Which components did you used to built the Mirrorframe and furthermore, how did you manage that the mirror is fixed on the Display?
Kind regards from Bayreuth, Germany.

Hi @PaulB
I’ve used an aluminium sheet, 1.5 mm thik. I made a sketch and went to a Sheet metal processing company.
But the coast are very high. :-)The fixing is included in to the mirrorframe and its built in one pice of aluminium.

@Bangee Your mirror looks so well, but I think I am going with a frame made out of wood for my first attempt. Nevertheless I am very interested in your mirror project, and still looking for a way to rebuild it with wood.

Here is my latest project. I have integrated the PIR sensor in my the glass 😏

@Bangee that Looks so great!
I’m looking into planning my frame at the moment. How do you attach the Monitor to the mirror and how do you place it on the wall, could you please add some information/pictures on that?
Thanks! -
Hi @binderth
The monitor is put in the frame and hold by the glass and some lashes. This frame very thin an built with 1.5mm aluminium.
The Weight ist only 1 kg.
I’ve used a 3mm 12% twoway mirror. If someone is interested in this, I will produce some more pices.
PM me if you’re interested in it.
