MMM-Button white screen
-
I read the instruction and I executed the
nmp install
in the MagicMirror folder and thought thatonoff
would be installed automaticly.
But I had to executenpm install onoff
extra in the MagicMirror folder to get the module run.Maybe there should a step 3, that tells you to execute
npm install onoff

No, the instructions, as written, are accurate. You missed the last bit of Step 1:
- Navigate into your MagicMirror’s modules folder and execute git clone https://github.com/ptrbld/MMM-Button.git.
A new folder will appear navigate into it.
- Execute
npm install
to install the node dependencies.
Had you done that last bit, you would be executing the next step from within the button module folder, not within the MagicMirror folder.
- Navigate into your MagicMirror’s modules folder and execute git clone https://github.com/ptrbld/MMM-Button.git.

@KirAsh4
Ahhh, okay, that´s an explanation why I have sometimes problems with some modules.Thank you.
-
It can be a confusing, sometimes damn near frustrating landscape to maneuver. Glad you got it to work though.

Hello, i have the same problem. I also get a white-screen. My error-log:
$ tail -f /home/pi/.pm2/logs/mm-error-0.log
at Error (native) at process.module.(anonymous function) [as dlopen] (ELECTRON_ASAR.js:178:20) at Object.Module._extensions..node (module.js:583:18) at Object.module.(anonymous function) [as .node] (ELECTRON_ASAR.js:178:20) at Module.load (module.js:473:32) at tryModuleLoad (module.js:432:12) at Function.Module._load (module.js:424:3) at Module.require (module.js:483:17) at require (internal/module.js:20:19) at bindings (/home/pi/MagicMirror/modules/MMM-Button/node_modules/bindings/bindings.js:76:44)
Any Ideas? Thanks!
I’ve done everything which was postet in this topic… -

@Babene1 try this
cd ~/MagicMirror/modules/MMM-Button
sudo npm rebuild --runtime=electron --target=1.4.6 --disturl=https://atom.io/download/atom-shell --abi=50 -
now it woks, thank you very much.
Have I made a mistake here?
Or what is the reason? -
I have the same problem. I did perform “nmp install” and “npm install onoff” in the MMM-Button folder.
And the fix from Nonamexp. But the screen after a reboot is white. :-(pi@raspberrypi:~ $ tail -f /home/pi/.pm2/logs/mm-error-0.log at Error (native) at process.module.(anonymous function) [as dlopen] (ELECTRON_ASAR.js:168:20) at Object.Module._extensions..node (module.js:583:18) at Object.module.(anonymous function) [as .node] (ELECTRON_ASAR.js:168:20) at Module.load (module.js:473:32) at tryModuleLoad (module.js:432:12) at Function.Module._load (module.js:424:3) at Module.require (module.js:483:17) at require (internal/module.js:20:19) at bindings (/home/pi/MagicMirror/modules/MMM-Button/node_modules/bindings/bindings.js:76:44)
