MMM-NOAA - Another Weather Module

@cruunnerr , I am very sorry and it sounds stupid, but I have no idea how my MM starts.
I had a lot problems to make its start automatically, but now it works.
I cannot stop MM, only minimalise it with CRTL-M.
SSH does not work (for some reason) VNC works well.

After every update of MMM-NOAA the current weather is back in english again.
Translation of the current weather is not in the Dutch translation file.
Any idea how to fix this definitely?

Isn’t the nl.json file Dutch translations? If not, you can help. How does that sound? :-)

Take any one of the translation files that you find in the tranaslations folder of the MMM-NOAA folder.
Make a copy of the file and rename the copy
Edit the copy . Don’t edit the left side which are the English words.
Edit the right side words so that they are the correct translations in Dutch for English words on the left side.
Save the file and submit it to the author

I did something like that.
This part is missing in the nl.json:

"OVERCAST": "Overcast",
"CLOUDY": "Cloudy",
"RAIN": "Rain",
"CLEAR": "Clear",
"PARTLY_CLOUDY": "Partly Cloudy",

So, I copied this from the en.json, pasted it in the nl.json and translated the right side, like this:


"OVERCAST": "Grotendeels bewolkt",
"CLOUDY": "Bewolkt",
"RAIN": "Regen",
"CLEAR": "Helder",
"PARTLY_CLOUDY": "Gedeeltelijk bewolkt",

After restarting MM it shows: Overcast …
Strange about this: in the older version of NOAA the same part is missing in nl.json, but the translation is ok.
So I presume the translation is somewhere else …

@Peter Hello Peter, i found the Problem since a few Versions of NOAA the translation comes directly from wunderground and during the last Change from @cowboysdude he made a small mistake. We will fix this soon.

@tbbear If you put lang: and your languagecode from Wunderground in MMM-NOAA:s config in my case SW for Sweden
it works.

Hi,
Sorry for these stupid questions.

How can I get the temperature with 1 or 2 decimals?
I want to get data from 2 different locations (Home & Holiday home abroud)
Can I copy module & rename it MMM-NOAA2 or can I put 2 different API & PWS locations in?

@Johans Hi Johans, to ask is never stupid. So to your questions:

The module gets his data from Wunderground so it can only display what it gets.
Yes, this should be possible and u said how it can be done. U can copy it to a new name and
npm install their. Dont forget to add the renamed module in the config file

About temp with decimals, I installed also MMM-MyWeather which takes the data from wunderground (just to compare both weather modules) - in fact It uses same API & PWS as NOAA, but here i’m getting the temperature with 1 decimal. (not 7°, but 7.4°).
Anyhow, no big deal, I can live with it. I just asked, maybe there was a setting for the temp decimals which wasn’t yet communicated or so.

MMM-NOAA.js starting line 310. Math.round() is used which rounds up or down and eliminates decimals.
Maybe you could add a config option to specify number of decimals?

Much slimmer so it takes up less space :) ONLY issue is that as of right now it only works in English…
