Modern 40” Magic Mirror First Try
-
My first magic mirror, powered by raspberry pi 3. It’s using a 40” TCL TV for the display behind the two way mirror.

Took 17 days from installing Raspbian software to finished and hung. Spent around $750 USD (carpenter friend cost $280, TV $100, frame $200, TV stand $70. Not including spare raspberry pi, camera, and mirror I had lying around collecting dust)
I hope this inspires others as much as I’ve been inspired by some of yours.

I think you did a fantastic job, young man.

That is SUPER NICE!!! WOW great job!!
What is the frame made out of?
-
@cowboysdude it’s MDF with a metallic veneer
-
@REDNAVE That is really an amazing effect!! Great job!
-
That looks really really great!
Does the mirror still has the TV functionality? -
What type of mirror are you using? It’s not a 50/50 as mines is that and it is not as reflective as your one, so is it a 75/20 Pilkington Mirrorview?
Thanks.
