      Although I am using the UTF-8 encoding for ALL of my newsfeeds accented letters (i.e é, à, etc.) and currency symbols (i.e €) are not displayed properly.

      Any idea why?

        you might have better luck using encoding: "ISO-8859-15" or encoding: "ISO-8859-9"
        The latter one is supposed to work best with European characters

              So is there a way to use this without the scrolling function to ease up on CPU usage?

                @cyberphox if you don’t want it to scroll then why don’t you use the default newsfeed module of MagicMirror? :thinking_face:

                      I still got some wrong encodings from time to time, but doing a search it came out that Italian users have to use encoding: "ISO-8859-16" instead.

                        To stop the marquee (scroll) put the following in your config file:

                        showMarquee: false,

                                If anyone is interested…

                                Adding the following will scroll the image with the article, but it will stop at the left while the rest of the article finishes scrolling:

                                @Keyframes marqueeImage {
                                0% {left: 100%;}
                                100% {left: 0;}
                                }

                                .MMM-NewsFeedTicker .image {
                                position: absolute;

                                        @justjim1220 althought I know ZERO about developing, JSON, CSS & Co. I was doing a quick search on Google about scrolling text stuttering in Electron on slow devices and I found out a suggestion at Stackoverflow.com that actually improved A LOT the overall perfomance of the newsfeed scrolling!

                                        Go open /home/pi/MagicMirror/modules/MMM-NewsFeedTicker/MMM-NewsFeedTicker and replace

                                        .MMM-NewsFeedTicker .tickerbody {
                                          position: relative;

                                        with

                                        .MMM-NewsFeedTicker .tickerbody {
                                          position: relative;
                                          transform: translateZ(0);
                                          backface-visibility: hidden;

                                        You should notice now an improvement. :upside-down_face:

                                          This error you got is just letting you know it can’t overwrite file within the module that you made any changes to
                                          You have to rename the file or delete it or just remove it from the directory

                                            @justjim1220 OK I ran the update succesfully by deleting the CSS.

                                            However I would like to revert to how it was looking before the update (static image on the left and smaller scrolling text). :grimacing_face:
                                            How do I do that please?
