It sounds like your whole MagicMirror instance freezes. But you can only see this at the NOAA module, because once the modules have loaded their informations they will show (without updated informations) their stuff.
So the other modules freezes, too but u can’t recognize it because u normally see no refreshing data. But on the NOAA module u expect a change of the shown data.

Another suggestion could be to say “Go to standby” and it will turn off the Monitor or something like that. Just for the need to say 1 command instead of 2 or 3 commands.
And “Wake up” will show the last used configuration.

But anyway a wonderful addition :D

do you think its just that simple? that would be great.
The question is, if the program code or the configuration will be the same as on a RPi. Or are u need to do some complicated hacks to use the board with MM?

Had/Have the same problem. I just copied all modules and the config of my main running RPi 3.
I set up a RPi 2 with the copied files just for experimental usage. When i run up both at the same time my RPi 3 stops after a few minutes or 1-2 hours and put these errors:

Well, i need to say that especially for me, the ability to use GPIOs is important. Unfortunately the power of the raspi’s & co is not as good as x86 systems.

Does anyone know if it would be possible to use MagicMirror on a x86 system and uses external GPIOs? I installed an MM instance on a virtual machine running Linux. When i add a module which uses GPIOs i get errors. Is there a possibility (maybe with server-client)

As i understood, u were able to use GPIO commands the same way u do on a raspberry. Seems to be a nice option

Easiest way is to use the MMM-Remote-Control module. With that, u were able to turn off and on the monitor with your phone or every other network device.

Other options are a PIR-Sensor or a button on your mirror. There are many threads about that. Just give the search function a try ;)

What Mykle1 said is right. Have u used the automatic installer and said “YES” when it asked u too start automatically i think the process of pm2 is called MagicMirror. So the commands should be:

pm2 stop MagicMirror
pm2 start MagicMirror
pm2 save MagicMirror (to save the current status (on or off))
