I use ronnys notification modul since, I dont know. My smartmirror was offline for a long time. You wrote his modul will not work sice the api have changed. I tested it now again and everything work fine.

I found your post.

I have/had several problems with tvservice. So I decide to google about one or two years ago. Then I found the vcgencmd and everytime there was spoken about tv serve i use vcgencmd and everything works fine ;-)

To find out what I mean, you could just send me a pn :-D

I use a other voice modul and a other music modul but the problem was the same. With headphones everything works fine but without the lyrics will crash the voice recognition.

I have tested several module and distance and and and. but nothing.

Maybe you can solve this problem.

Hi,

I use your Facial Recognition modul. I have create some user and everything work fine.

But now I install MMM-Motion-Detection modul. I works fine, too. But if I use this modul your modul didn´t work. When I cut off the MMM-Motion-Detection module from config.js and start again your modul will work fine again.

Can someone help me?

Hi,

I use your module. Thank you for building this.
But I have some tipps, that i will write down. Maybe the will help others.

At first after install your module, it power off my monitor, but didn´t power on after that. I see only a black page. So after i changed the order to activate and deactivete from “tvservice” to “vcgencmd display power 1” my monitor power of but didn´t power on again, but now it was really off. After that I delete at the node-helper.js some lines, that will test if the monitor was active.

Thats it, now everythings works fine.

BUt is it possible that your module don´t work together with Paviro’s MMM-Facial-Recognition module?? I use it and have several users. But now the detection of faces didn´t work.

Maybe you can help me.

ok I found the problem. I have install like you write, but the module folder wasn´t called MMM-Remote-Control-Repository the created folder was named RC-Repository. I have changed the name and now there are no errors shown.

I have a little problem with your module. I hae install correctly and my MagicMirror starts. Now I have start with npm start dev because of an other problem. And I found two errors atr the console.

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found)
Error on loading script: modules/MMM-Remote-Control-Repository//MMM-Remote-Control-Repository.js

and

Hi, I have this idea about one year ago. I brainstorming my thinking on a paper and search the internet for more details, tips and tricks and same projects. I found some othe but nothing perfekt for me. So I decide to code it by myself. I think I like to use the same structure that mm use. for my project. Because I didn´t have a lot of codeing experince i ask in this forum. But till now nobody can help me. I think its a great idea and and a great project. But at this time its only draw on paper by myself :-(

Now I finisched my magic mirror and I like to start a new project. And because that new project I write this. @MichMich I like your skeletal structure behind the MagicMirror.the art of displaying ,one config file to configure and the option to use modules that can config and display. For my new project I like to create that skeletal structure,too

Maybe you can help me a little bit whit information about the creating process.

I use this modul for a long time. but now I have a little question,
is it possible to set a intervall to check new emails?? Like every 10 Minutes for example.

And if it isn´t possible can I easy put this option in any way?
I have to say my coding experencie isn´t very good, so because there is a easy way. :-)

Hello, Sorry I didn´t see it till now. Maybe I need a glass. But now I have tested the option setWidth and scrollAfter but nothing happend. There was no error but it didn´t work, too. I have set your option at my config file at the config block of your module. There I have set the numberofResults to 5. This works perfect. Do you have any Ideas?

I hopüe I understand your problem and maybe I can help you. I use this modul since about one year. At first I had many problems but now it works perfect.

What I do: I use the trainer on my pi. Because of my experince whit an other modul, i rember its better not to use other sources (like your laptop…)

I use a usb cam not the pi cam. Because of that the traine wouldn´t work whit option one (take pictures from your webcam) So I have to choose option to (use jpg pictures)

for this i use fswebcam whit the option --no-Banner. So i take about 50 pictures of myself. Then I copied all pictures in one Folder, Pictures for example. Choose in the trainer option 2 use your own jpg pictures and paste the path to your folder. I think now or before you choose your path the trainer ask you for a name. Lets work it… After this you have a new folder in your folder facetrainer. now you can start the train.py and everthing should Ok.

Hi, till now I have use a module by myself to display Picture from finalrewind. But now I use your modul. Its perfect! Thank you! But a little question I have, too. :-) Is it possible to programmed fixed size of your module? I like to explain what I mean, I five buses displayed. But the destination of the buses not the same. So if there five buses whit short destinations like abc, its ok but then there are five buses whit long destinations like abcdefghijklm, your modul will adjust size.

Hey, @robertoOk or anybody other. I got today exact the same problem. After updating to 2.1.1 my mm start whit a black screen. And npm write the same like @robertoOk write in his first post. If I cut this module out at the config.js. mm starts correctly.

I hope, i´m right here.

Yesterday I start my Pi after about 8 month the first time. At the last shutdown in the past everything works fine. Now I think, ok the first thing I have to do, was updating… At first I update my raspian. Everything works fine. Then i change into my MAgicMirror folder and write gitpull and then npm install. the system works a lot, and then i restart my pi… But the my magic mirror only shows a black screen and no error. I try everything I can remember. but nothing. A start whit npm start dev didn´t work too (It produce a white screen and the error “Can not conect”. In searching errors I found some warnings from npm about lifecircle and grunt-jsonlint.

Have anybody the same issue? Or can help me?

I am happy because I have create a image of my sd card before that so I could some steps back… :-)
