Hi, everyone!! About over one year ago i found this forum, because i search for infomation about a interesting project i have seen, called MagicMirror. Now I finisched my magic mirror and I like to start a new project. And because that new project I write this. @MichMich I like your skeletal structure behind the MagicMirror.the art of displaying ,one config file to configure and the option to use modules that can config and display. For my new project I like to create that skeletal structure,too Maybe you can help me a little bit whit information about the creating process. greets gismo

I hope, i´m right here. Yesterday I start my Pi after about 8 month the first time. At the last shutdown in the past everything works fine. Now I think, ok the first thing I have to do, was updating… At first I update my raspian. Everything works fine. Then i change into my MAgicMirror folder and write gitpull and then npm install. the system works a lot, and then i restart my pi… But the my magic mirror only shows a black screen and no error. I try everything I can remember. but nothing. A start whit npm start dev didn´t work too (It produce a white screen and the error “Can not conect”. In searching errors I found some warnings from npm about lifecircle and grunt-jsonlint. Have anybody the same issue? Or can help me? I am happy because I have create a image of my sd card before that so I could some steps back… :-) Greets and many thanks gismo2006

@strawberry-3-141 i think I have, because it works fine till this update. But I found maybe a solution in this post: https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/1561/white-screen-after-mmm-remote-control-update/7 I will test it later…

@gismo2006 What I mean is if you want to change the station from one to the other you have to use the hotword for stop(radiostop) before you change stations. You really need the kill before starting the new stream/playback otherwise you get multiple streams at the same time.

@gismo2006 I know this thread is solved and a few months old. There is also another one liner solution with use of jq JSON parser from command line. Here is an example that would get result that you need (or at least get you close to it) curl -s "http://api.openweathermap.org/data/2.5/weather?id=2934486&lang=de&units=metric&mode=json&appid=YOUR_OWM_API_KEY" | jq -r '"Today is " + .weather[].description + " and " + (.main["temp"]|tostring) + " degrees."' > filename.txt would result in Today is überwiegend bewölkt and -6.12 degrees. put into filename.txt

@strawberry-3.141 , the json will be on the server, check the link below. It will be very similar. The number 83139 refers to a bus stop and will query the bus arrival timings. The module will need to be able to reload the content every minute to get the updates arrival timings. Ability to query multiple bus stops will be great! https://arrivelah.herokuapp.com/?id=83139

@Mitchfarino Thank your for your answer. I have tested Alexa some days ago after I posted und Generall Discussion in this forum. There was the question should I use Alexa or Stevens hicksons suite an google. After a try for google and a not working Suite I tested Alexa because I readed about that you haven´t to use a button to use alexa from now on. But Alexa only understand englich at the moment (Thats I found in the www and if I asked “she”. She told me that, too) I´m not sure, if that the right thing for my mirror. Because there was some other family member who like to use it. My sons and my wife. (I know if I use snowword Hotword, I havve to create for everyone a pmdl file)

Well either way you are using an outside source to run the mirror… Like using a NEST Thermostat… it has to go through their server which means they have the ability to control your item. I’ve never been a fan of big business knowing my business ;)

I only get Phone numbers and no names. I had do a clean install and tried everything but no results. I had install the both modules: MMM-Callmonitor-Current-Call and MMM-FRITZ-Box-Callmonitor Make a user in my Fritzbox (System/FRITZ!Box Users) and did the #96*5 with a Fritz Phone. I don’t know what or where/how i use the API code. I hope someone can help me further. Chris
