    • RE: I need help!!!!

      @danwitz65 ok, lets fix it step by step:

      1. Rotate the screen (works for all normal displays, not for pi special and touchscreens)

      Open a terminal and login to your pi

      sudo nano /boot/config.txt
      move all the way down to the end of the file
      add the line: display_rotate=3
      Press ctrl + o to save and ctrl + x to exit the file

      Now do a reboot and you should have a screen tilted by the number of your desire:

      0 = 0 degrees (the default value)
      1 = 90 degrees
      2 = 180 degrees
      3 = 270 degrees

      That’s it! Quick and easy.

    • Additional Info for each module

      Hello,
      the last weeks i spended lots of time testing modules and so many of them are realy
      great ( a few are grab ;-) ) but thats also ok. But during all the testing i found out that
      its very very important to select the fitting hardware.
      For example:
      I develop on a Raspi P3B nice little machine and can handle a lot but not everything.
      So this wunderfull modules MMM-voice i impossible to use on a PI much too slow.
      On an old laptop with ubuntu it runs perfect.
      I found this result fits too a lot of modules they work perfect ok fast cpu but not on a
      simple one.
      So my suggestion is:
      If every module developer puts an information at the beginning of his readme to tell
      the cpu where the module was developed and a recommendation.
      like.
      DEV-CPU: INTEL xyz with Ubuntu 16.04
      REC-CPU: same or faster

      I think this would keep a lot of people from getting unhappy with great module on a
      slow cpu.

      So what do u all think about this idea???

      Take care
      Robert

      @Magic_Pi U would like something like this?
      0_1515342151875_snip2.png

      This is Openhab 2 (has a binding for SMA) integrated to MM with MMM-Openhab.

      (Dont worry about the German language, my Openhab is German)

    • RE: MMM-NOAA - Another Weather Module

      Thanks for the new translations, now only a few topics do not fit for german users.

      1. we would not say “Anzahl der Tageslicht” we say “Stunden mit Tageslicht”
      2. Not “11 Std. 48 Protokoll” we say “11 Std. 48 min”
      3. we dont measure airpressure in “psi” like 29.99 here i also think this is same in a lot of countries our value is “hPa” which means “HectoPascal”
      4. in your last post u said that my change is not necessary any more but when i remove it i still get only english actual weather so i keep it

      U did and do a great Job and i hope u are not angry about my comments, but i only try to help.
      So one last topic:
      i saw an issue at github that people have problems installing the module and i think i know why.
      If u look at your readme file it lookes like that the apiKey and the airKey are the same keys and thats wrong they are differen keys from different websites. U grab the useAir from “http://api.airvisual.com” so a user has to sign in there and get the airKey from this side but their is no hint in your readme about this.
      Hope i could help.

    • My result about voice control

      The last few month’s i tried to find out which voice module is the best for me. It was a hard work but
      i never gave up so i tested Alexa, MMM-voice and also Kaliope. So here is my personal result:

      First of all it was not easy to get all this diff. modules to work but finaly i did. I think all of them are
      good in their own way so Alexa can access lots of diff. stuff and it speaks german (i am german, but its a very hard job to integrate with MM and other modules) same as Kaliope (it supports many languages so the best for international users, but hard to understand and no good documentation). MMM-voice is for english users the very best choice, good understanding and easy to integrate (for ex. MMM-Lucy).
      So what do i prefer, to be true none of them my MM is part of my bathroom so for me and my family its important in the morning to listen to the radio (news, traffic and music) this works fine BUT also its the end of all voice recognation cause the modules listen more to the radio than to my voice.
      For my needs i wrote a little module to control the mirror by touchscreen or mouse (in my case i use a cheap mouse pad which fits to my bathroom) so i can do all the things that can be done with voice.

      I hope i could help some of u nice people with ur own decisions.
