Very nice work, looks very professional.
What is mounted on top of the mirror? Camera, microphone, pir sensor?

It’s a camera. I wanted to use the MMM-Facial-recognition but my raspberry warms a lot. I am waiting for the cooling system what I ordered.

The PIR sensor is at the bottom

I used a special glu what I bought in the special market (Mr Bricolage)
It’s like a silicon glu but it’s special for mirror and bathroom.

I didn’t want to have any borders. I prefer the frame like that (more contemporary I think !)

What is the model of the mirror ? Pilkington MirroView ? The mirror effect is great !

Mine is with a picam also for Face-Reco without any fan. The temperature is about 70C with CPU load around 15-20%. I think , the high temperature is causing by heat emitted by the display panel. But so far, so good. Mine is more than 14 months run smoothly. The monitor is also always ON.

                            regards,

                            Slamet PS

Yes you are right. The temperature increasing comes from the screen. I put a small switch to switch off/on the screen. In the future I will put a relay to switch on / off it automatically , with a timer to detect the activity of the PIR sensor and stop it during the night. (Hours range). That will be my next update.

Looks great! And the screen seems really bright. Is that monitor or tv? Do you know the brand/model? I’m interested what’s the brightness of the screen in cd/m².

It’s an old TV Sony Bravia LCD 94 cm if I remember well. The tuner was broken.

                                    Man, for goods !!!
I’m trying to build mine, but I’m finding it very difficult to find the mirror in my country (Brazil). Do you believe it?

Congratulations on the project. His tv was 32 "??

What type of “cooling system” do you plan? Active with fan or what?
Iam intrested in the end result of your project with the face recog.

@iorifly i think you can find that easily. The other solution is to order a standard glass and a 2 ways mirror sticker. You can order this last one with internet easily. And that is cheaper
