@martinkooij I now (feb 2021) updated again to multi-API support (from version 3.0.0).

Aftership has (slightly) improved their commercial offerings.

iIn the MMM-Parcel config you can now easily choose between Tracktry.com (fully free) or AfterShip.com (free for legacy users, or >9$/month paid plans for new users). Screen display still works the same, except for the somewhat less detailed information that you will receive from the tracktry.com API there is no difference in the way the parcels are displayed.

It is a bit of both. The module developer incorporating voice commands for his module will add a list of commands that he needs. For instance, ‘COUNT UNREAD; HOW MANY EMAILS?’. A dictionary is then generated automatically by the voice command module. The mirror will only understand count, unread, count unread, how many emails, emails (un-important words are ignored).
@strawberry-3-141 and I have both been working on the module, and I would like to take his suggestion of adding regex matching as well.

So you did exactly what I am looking to do. Can you elaborate on how to configure this so my PIR will turn off the screen saver? I’ve already installed Xdotool, but I don’t know where to go from there.

@derekhuffman it’s fine to post it here 🙂 You could do this to ways.
Have a module that’s checking a GPIO Pin with a sound sensor, the module could then trigger a relay or turn on the HDMI output. That would work if the monitor does not need to be turned off completely (I would turn it off to save energy). With this approach you would have the information that’s it is turned on available in the MagicMirror system if you don’t need that (you probably don’t), you could also go for a hardware only solution, Google “activate relay if sound is detected” for that.

The best method would be to just use a PIR-Sensor or is their any reason you want sound detection?
