    • RE: Weather Module Help -- Using weathergov

@harmzj Here are my weathergov config.js components.
You might want to read this post I did regarding weathergov.
Once I read through API a few times I figured out how to make it work.
They say it on api page but be aware that weather.gov resolves back to certain National Weather Service sites. That is explained in gridpoint discussion.
Don’t use tableClass: 'medium',unless you are doing this on big TV.
One last thing. Every now and then you might see an unusual number for the current temperature. Mine will show 32 F but it comes back. Pretty sure it is due mine and the NWS updates crossing paths at same time so I get that 32F number but on next update it will be correct.

    • RE: My third MagicMirror, InfoScreen

@uros76 I use SmartPi from Amazon but if you do a search on 7" raspberry pi screen case or similar on Amazon there are lots of alternatives. Thing I like about that particular case is it comes with a Y cable that powers both 7" screen and the Pi with one power supply. I looked at others that utilize 7" screen, bought it and have subsequently bought a couple more. I think initial driver for me was the base but I am well satisfied with that brand/style case + screen setup.

@uros76 I’ve made a couple using this case and 7" screen. Nice tidy setup for a desk.

    • MMM-Jast 2 Tickers on top of each other

I was trying to figure out how to position the ticker frame inside the body of module on screen because it runs off right side of monitor using CSS. I was not able to figure out how to make that happen but it created another question when I was messing with the Jast CSS.
Why are there two tickers that lay on top of each other. The seem identical to me. At first blush the ticker looks fine with exception of running of right side of screen. This picture looks okay.
      Jast Ticker.jpg
In my hunt for CSS for module I used dev tools and came across this.
Dev Tools Jast Ticker 1 and 2.jpg
Often times there are other configuration items or CSS in the modules CSS or JS files, so went to look at MMM-Jast.jsfile which was a dead end for me other than generally understanding he was pulling from a different location.
      That is this image.
      MMM-Jast.js.jpg
So turned to the MMM-Jast.css file. to look at that file and saw this one which has padding-left: 100% }Jast Padding.jpg
Since the ticker does stop short of where it should, changed that padding value off off 100%. This was how I discovered there where two ticker frames laying on top of each other.
      Ticker Overlap.jpg
So I have two unanswered puzzles.
      1)Why 2 tickerframes?
2)How do I shift the ticker frame to left?

    • RE: Streaming News Sites for MMM-iFrame-Ping

@joeronimo Serious question. How do you know that they won’t allow content to be streamed?
Reason I ask is that while not a streaming issue, I’ve tried to save certain livestreams and YouTube tells me in no uncertain terms that I cant save a certain live feed. Based on that I would think if you tried to click the share icon and copy or embed the feed they would do same.

    • Code editor question

I’m using VS Code as my editor but I assume other code editors the same general functionality.
There is icon on left side vertical that when I float mouse over it says source control. I have ignored to date and will likely continue in that mode but can someone give me a thumbnail description is going on between the left side and right side code panels.
I don’t mind breaking my own stuff but if I am reading the help file in VS Code correctly, the source repository is on Github and is the code that is on left side while mine is on right side. This seems to me to be **LOOK BUT DON'T TOUCH**
I have a Github account of some variety but have only used it to retreive Adafruit code for various sensors in the past.

    • MMM-Jast jittery

Is there a way to deal with the jitteriness of MMM-Jast on monitors and TV’s?
      Sometimes seems worse than others.
