I could not install the package above on my pi installation: package not found But sudo apt install fonts-symbola worked. I just needed to restart the magicmirror service. Although, the emojis are not colored. But still better than the square ;-)

@mumblebaj, chart.js needs to come from npm. If you do npm install chart.js, what does it say? Also, recent versions have taken a couple of dependencies that require newer Node versions – what version are you running? (node --version) I see the exceptions thrown on retrieving Storm Watch status; I’ve just pushed a commit to ensure that skips if it gets null back for now. However, besides log pollution, that shouldn’t actually be breaking anything – Node will log that it failed and move on to the next message.

@MikeBishop I have not seen any tests on the newer node and electron versions… there are breaking changes along the way, and new restrictions (like browser sandbox in this latest release), and cross site scripting restrictions , etc… you ware welcome to try and give feedback… no guaranties. I run my installer on all the devices I can get access to I have pi0(armv6l), pi3, pi4, odroid(armv7l) , jetson nano (arm64), linux on intel, mac on intel both physical and virtual machines (my odroid is my production machine in the hall) the others are development test. in my office. the project has reduced focus to pi 3 or 4.
