    Hi MagicMirror team, I wanted to share with the community my MagicMirror project featuring a completely custom-built LEGO frame! Hardware Setup: Display: Vertical monitor Computer: Initially Beelink (mini PC), now migrating to Dell OptiPlex D10U System: Ubuntu (Server → Desktop) PIR sensor for automatic screen on/off control via MQTT Implemented Modules: Clock & Calendar (with Italian custom calendar) Weather (Italian weather with hourly and daily forecasts) Compliments (motivational messages) News Feed (Italian news) Automatic screen control via PIR sensor and Node.js Unique Feature: The LEGO frame is completely customizable and modular. It includes: LEGO minifigures on top Colorful decorations on the sides with bricks from various collections Decorative elements (stars, clouds, stickers) Design that perfectly integrates into the home environment Technical Challenges Solved: MQTT integration for PIR control Italian weather modules configuration Optimization for vertical display Power management and automatic screen shutdown The project became not only functional but also a decorative element appreciated by the whole family. The LEGO frame makes the MagicMirror less “techy” and more accessible, especially for children.     Hello guys, I’m create my first magic mirror. I’ve find in the 3rd party module list a nice module with the name “MMM-temp-ds18b20”. My problem is that I don’t know how I can realize this. Because to practise this nice idea I need some wireless modules which send the temperature information to the Raspberry Pi. Maybe someone of you has do this in former times and can gave me some tips? Thank you for your help and many greetings tzabbi

    @Manmachine Thank you. I have been looking at the product they offer for a long time. It was the best i’ve found in denmark but I wasnt sure if it was good enough. So nice you hear it is working for you. Then I will order one as well.

    Screen size < mirror size

    You will most often get bleedthrough, but how much really depends on your screen. You could look through the posts in the show your mirror section. Here you will be able to find some pictures where you can see the bleedthrough and decide for yourself if you can live with that :)

    @vazma I have 3%, thats a bit low. I believe that 15-25% should be acceptable enough for normal room conditions and still not getting to much bleed from the monitors backlight. 40%+ would be for the really bright rooms and sunny outdoor conditions.

    @speirsoj01 thanks. I hadn’t thought about it before but seeing your mirror against a standard one is interesting. I’m guessing that’s light escaping from the back. I’m not an expert but it may not be possible to get it any brighter without losing the contrast of the writing? Size wise that looks like it’s going to be a great mirror, same sort of size as I want to do my next one. Are you custom building a frame?

    @Atheose thats exactly what i did. the problem is that the part where the monitor is is actually too bright, so it’d probably be better to put some white or light gray paper behind the parts that are not covered by monitor. But it’s not too bad and I don’t want to get the mirror off the wall and disassemble the whole thing again…

    I have the following equipment with me a 12 x 12 inch two way mirror (Vanity vision, 1/4inch thick) a 13.1 x 8.2 inch screen What’s the best way of going about this? I have a glass cutting tool and I am thinking of cutting the mirror down to 12 x 8.2 inches. But when it comes to the frame, I would need something that would fit a 13.1 by 8.2 inch screen. I don’t have access to too many hardware tools so making a custom frame is going to be difficult if I want to fit the 13.1x8.2inch screen. For those who made pretty looking frameless mirrors, how did you guys do it? Or basically how did you make it mountable on a wall? The other option would be for me to get a 12x12inch shadow box that can fit the mirror easily, and buy a smaller screen like this https://www.amazon.com/JBtek-Resolution-Raspberry-EJ101IA-01G-Rasbperry/dp/B00S4EWF6G/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 which is a 9 x 5.8 inch screen and I can fit everything inside the box.

    @Atheose thanks for the information im going out in a few to go pick it up the film as i figure its only 30$ worth a try worse case ill buy a sheet of glass and place thar on top or just bit the bullet and by the Acrylic mirror… ill update when i have it on

    Perfect, thanks! I just received my 12x12 sample! Going to try it out! Is there a specific side for the mirror? As in which side faces the outside?
