@PXNDA yes, the modules here do not work there, and vice versa… I have a sample module for smart-mirror as well as MagicMirror. for help on smart-mirror you need to use discord on the smart-mirror channel.

Hi @TipsyNurse! Thanks so much for the feedback on this idea. I have had doubts about the interface too. I did consider the smartphone, but I wanted the Magicmirror to be a replacement for a smartphone in the salon instead of an addition, preferably. Also, this might make it more complicating sometimes because the customer would have to do it himself and the pictures would not be as consistent as they would be using a fixed camera. The tablet is kind of the same ‘problem’. Since the Magicmirror would be used for playing very basic games using a controller like this one, a keyboard isn’t an issue. I know I might sound stubborn on this one, but would love to try it on the Magicmirror itself at first and was wondering if anyone was interested in helping on this module. Maybe there could be some computer that runs a website doing the difficult Google Photos-tasks, to relieve the Pi from his duty a bit? It would be run in different salons so the cost of this computer will be less than having to buy tablets for each mirror, too. The Facial Recognition might indeed be too demanding, especially since it isn’t that much of an improvement. This will be moved to the long-term idea section ;) Anyway, thanks so much for the critical feedback. I didn’t even think about the workload for the Pi.

I really enjoy using this module but I would love to add a feature. Currently it shows the time the next bus is due. Is there anyway to code it to show a count down in minutes to the next bus instead? So instead of displaying: K2 New Malden 15:30 It would show: K2 New Malden 2 Mins

@broberg This is really close to what I’m looking for but not quite. I wanna sent instant notifications that pop up and dominate the screen similar to the alerts from the Remote control! Sorry to be a PITA

I have now managed to include the little guy in the MMM-DarkSkyForecast module: [image: 1562238963414-7196dc8d-e67d-4225-8bd1-56512df34ab5-image.png] BUT: I have used a sprite image from a google image search and need to ask the weather station provider for allowance to use/share it.

Hi, so I recently got into Smart Mirrors and I’m planning out my own configuration. Besides all the awesome Modules that already exist, I started to think which use cases are still missing. Since I want to place my first Magic Mirror in the bathroom, why not connect Smart Toothbrushes and other bathroom devices to it. I’m thinking about Scales, Electric Razors, Toothbrushes etc. I found an awesome concept of the Philips Smart Mirror, which pretty much shows this use case: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMN29i59AOA There are different topics, which already talked about the Oral-B Smart Toothbrushes, but they didn’t find any solutions, so I did some research: Oral-B seems to be the first company, that offered a “Smart” Toothbrush, that could connect to your phone via bluetooth and also show information on a small seperate screen. They used to offer an API for Android and iOS, but that one seems to be gone. As many found out, there is a way to get data from the toothbrush, but the bluetooth connection is an issue. Here are some links, to anything I could find about this topic: http://minibarlabs.com/hack-brush-technical-info/ https://community.home-assistant.io/t/oral-b-bluetooth-connected-toothbrush/35595/5 Philips recently pushed all kinds of “Bathroom Smart Devices” (as shown in the video) that connect to your phone. Unfortunately they don’t have any API or SDK for developers (at least I didn’t find anything). Maybe there is another way to access the data from those devices? The Chinese brand Xiaomi also offers Smart Toothbrushes and a Smart Scale, which can be accessed in the Mi Home App. In Theory, data from these devices should be accessible, since there are other Modules using this API. But still, for now they’re just offering those devices (which fall into the catory Bathroom Smart Devices). I would love to connect all kinds of Bathroom Smart Devices to my Magic Mirror, but since I’m a beginner in this field and there seems to be no company, who offers products with a decent API, I’m reaching out to the Forum. Is there a way to connect Oral-B, Philips, Xiaomi’s or any other brands Bathroom Smart Devices to the Magic Mirror and display relevant information?

Yeah my project stopped just because of this same reason… Prob is, that I’ve made MM on my rpi 3 and bought sonoff relays for turning on and off my tv, but the prob is, that when I power my tv it doesn’t start. It just gets its power and I need to use my remote for it. Now… if I would have some sort of remote app of some sort with wich I could control my tv, then this could be the answer (maybe some android remote or something)…

we need module, which acts like skype. Reason: I am an instructor in a social organization for people with special needs. Actually we are building smart mirrors for the boarding schools and the assisted living homes. Our special need for our smart mirror project is a kind of video call functionality (like Skype) for the deaf people. They should be able to get in touch with the person on charge in the night if their is an emergency situation. Telephone is not a solution, because the deaf people need to see the person in charge and gesticulate with him. So the module should be able to get in contact with a cellphone or a computer. The mirror will have a cam installed.

This is what I use for my washer/dryer, mine is not on wifi so I have to rely on power and temp sensors to trigger a “running” or “done” state. It may be crude as I may not know exactly what I am doing but it works! [image: Screenshot%20from%202019-06-26%2009-24-01.png?raw=true] https://github.com/jasondreher/MMM-door-sensor3 And I use Home Assistant (https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/10664/home-assistant-controling-my-magic-mirror) to trigger when you may use ifttt.

Hello, I would like to get the air quality in my room presented on my magic mirror. As sensors I thought about the BME680 (https://www.bosch-sensortec.com/bst/products/all_products/bme680) or the IAQ-Core C (https://www.digikey.de/product-detail/de/ams/IAQ-CORE-C/IAQ-COREC-ND/5117221). Does anyone know which one is better/easier to use? So far the existing modules (e.g. MMM-LocalTemperatur) show only the indoor temperatur and humidity. Does anybody know if they are extendable to additional show the indoor air quality? Can otherwise someone create an indoor air quality modul? Thank you very much for your help!

There’s an API here: https://ukvehicledata.co.uk/Fuel-Prices for UK fuel prices. It’d be useful to someone I’m sure, rather like MMM-Fuel Just a thought, if anyone were interested! :)
